Procedure for ADCO...

I am getting a muzzle brake pinned, and would like to use ADCO.

 

So... let me get this procedure right:

 

1. Go to ADCO and purchase shop service.

2. Print out order confirmation.

3. Pack everything with instructions, and order confirmation, send to ADCO.

4. ADCO does work, repacks in same packaging.

5. (here is where I'm confused) they ship it back to you and charge you for return shipping?

You won't be charged for anything until they have finished. When they are done and have sent back your item, they will charge you for the service and the shipping at the time (though, you do provide your information prior when placing the order).

 

Just make sure everything is detailed-- though, if you do forget something, just email Steve and he'll add it on to your order. When I ordered my upper from BCM and had it sent directly to ADCO, I forgot to include what muzzle device I wanted them to pin on!

 

They're really quick too. Between ordering from BCM; shipping from BCM to ADCO; ADCO receiving and doing the work (pin/weld, remove bayo lug); ADCO shipping it to me-- it took about a week and a half total to get to my doorstep.

I forgot to ask, if you're just having the muzzle device pinned, have you inquired with anybody in NJ? I think PK90 does that type of smithing (though you would have to confirm with him). It would sure beat shipping it to Ohio and back.

Unless something has changed, PK90 does do muzzle work. He did one of my ARs. ADCO did the other. I bought the gun directly from ADCO, so can't really comment on the procedure, but from everything I've read, what bbk describes is how they do it.

I had ADCO do the work on my upper from the last week of Feb, and got it the first Friday of this month. The FAQ on their site hasn't changed since I got the work done-- so, I think the process is still the same.

PK90 did mine super quick. If I remember correctly, he pinned the brake the same day the upper arrived and then mailed it out the next day. ADCO does it a little neater in my opinion - the pin/weld area is almost a perfect circle and almost isn't noticeable if you aren't looking for it, where as PK90's is a little more obvious. But the end result is the same... you have a perm attached muzzle brake :)
