Threaded Muzzle Brake Adapter for AR-15 with pistol grip

Recommended Posts

So ponder this: http://preciseinnovationsllc.com/old%20 ... brakes.htm

If this is attached by set screws which are bottomed out in holes dimpled onto the barrel, without locktite or welding/silver solder/pins, is it permanently attached?

There is no law about threads on adapters..:think:

"Permanently Attached" is defined by the ATF as:

1. Silver Soldered at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater

2. Pinned in place (real pins, the kind that usually require a hammer and punch to remove)

3. Four equilateral spot welds

4. A continuous weld running greater than 50% of the circumference of the seam

I've not seen anything from NJ, but I'd say slim chance this state is less strict than the Feds. I wouldn't play around with a device like that. Can't see anything good coming from it.

AFAIK NJSP uses the ATF standard when it comes to "Permanently Attached'
