A nice evening at the range

Recommended Posts

Matt, Troy and I spent a while at Cherry Ridge Wednesday after work. That place is really different in the evening. Quiet and peaceful.

Gene (the RO) rolled up around 7:45 and reminded us that they had to shut the gates. A fun and relaxing evening on the range. I recommend it.

It gets crowded sometimes, but they have a lot of space, and the only place I've ever had to wait was on the handgun range. The silo range is pretty much underutilized, and the shotgun range has always had space to shoot, even though it can get pretty busy. I don't shoot on the 50/100 or the 200/300, but I've seen the shorter range filled up from time to time.

Weekends are busier....

100yd Rifle is the busiest..... at times it can be full.

50yd Pistol ..... never seen it full..... maybe 3/4

200/300yd Rifle..... if no events are going on.... 25% used

Silo plinker range.... always room....

Shotgun range .... never seen it more then 1/2 full....

Just to add:

Signup Sundays (1st Sunday of the month) are far and away the busiest times there, with all of the new members heading out to the ranges at the same time. I try to avoid going on those days.

Definitely a relaxing evening, I needed that to relieve some stress.

Can't get over how friendly the RO's are at the Ridge. Gene is a standup guy and even let us stay later than he was suppose to.

Thanks again for the laughs guys!
