KpdPipes 388 Posted July 15, 2010 http://www.saf.org/viewpr-new.asp?id=331 This is HUGE...if Gura Smokes this the way he did with Heller and McDonald, than this decision WILL do something to make CCW in Nj a reality. Malsua 1,422 Posted July 15, 2010 Wow, that's great! The only problem will be is if Westchester goes ahead and agrees to give these people permits then files to close the case. A sympathetic judge would I suspect.

KpdPipes 388 Posted July 16, 2010 If this goes all the way, here comes NJ CCW...plain and simple Not exactly..what it will do is open the door for NJ CCW..it is still going to take multiple lawsuits to get NJ to comply.

Yes, but if Gura wins it should make it easier and smoother to win here. If Weschester County caves, it could still help in general. This could be very good news, in time. LorenzoS 100 Posted July 16, 2010 As Fred Sanford said, "This is the big one!" Heller and McDonald were important steps but had no practical impact to us here in NJ. The right to carry is really what counts. Be aware though, this will be a much much tougher fight than those past wins. Most people, even non gun owners, really do support the right to defend yourself at home. But the idea of firearms in public is disturbing to many, especially here in the urban NY metro area. If he wins, the rest of the country will probably follow. But if they lose, any hope for CCW in NJ will be gone forever.

Maybe a suggestive letter to the Governor is in order? Dear Governor Christie, The End is Near! God wills it! Oh wait. That's the one for the zombie outbreak. Dear Governor Christie, As it has been decided by the Supreme Court Of The United States ::Ahem SCONJ:: we're right and you're wrong. Please reverse all the feel good do nothing legislation enacted by previous power hungry administrations to keep down the law-abiding citizens of New Jersey. Return our rights. Thank you in advance for your compliance with our request. Sincerely, The NJ Sheepdogs

Gura filed in Federal, not State court. NY is 2nd Circuit. NJ is 3rd Circuit. 2nd Circuit is considered slightly less liberal than the 3rd Circuit. Therefore, there's a slightly better chance of success in NY.
