I know this is impossible and probably has been discussed a million times, but who is the person who actually approves or denies the request? Is it the local chief of police? a judge in the same town? a NJ state judge?

Just trying to see where one has to be connected to get the elusive permit. Thanks in advance.

I know 2 municipal court judges that were refused a CCW. If they can't get one no one in this state can.

Wow. Even cronyism won't get you a permit. How inconsistent with the rest of NJ politics.

It's the policy of all the police chiefs I'm aware of to automatically deny all CCW permits so that they will go before a judge.

Not true. If you look at the SAF lawsuit, the guy who got kidnapped got approved by the State Police for a carry permit, but got denied when he got in front of the Superior Court judge.
