Jsko 0 Posted November 10, 2011 Well after a lot of patience, I ended up lucking out on the 1903's from CMP and received mine. I wish I bought 3! I picked up mine from Hackettstown Guns and Ammo last night. The rifle is in far better condition that I imagined it be in. From the descriptions on the site, I was expecting something like a Field Grade. The rifle is in excellent shape, and the stock is close to mint for a 1943 rifle. Cartouches are all there, stock appears to be original finish, although I can't be sure. The serial puts it as a 1943 production rifle, and the barrel is also dated 9-43. The bore is is also in VG+, no rust or pitting. M: 0+ T: 1+ Here are some quick pictures I took yesterday.
lunker 274 Posted November 10, 2011 Sweet. My 1903 A3 is one of the best shooters I own. It looks like your stock is the earlier straight version, like they put on the A1. Enjoy it.
