Savage Model 1907

Hey, I recently acquired a Savage 1907, the serial matches that of a 1914 production. I haven't shot it yet, and was wondering does anyone know what exactly to check on something 98yrs old before shooting? I checked for cracks, inner barrel issues, firing pin condition, and gave it an overall cleaning.

 

Anyone else have one? Any advice?

Is that the model that went up against the 1911 and narrowly lost? Neat design.

Yes it is, in 45. The one I got is actually .32cal

Nice buy but if you are not sure if it is safe to shoot lean toward the safe side and let a gunsmith

look at it. Better safe than sorry. ( as the saying goes )
