Mosin Rim-Lock Avoidance?

So, When I picked up my mosin the seller was kind enough to include 15 or so stripper clips. I enjoy using them and have no issue loading the magazine with them.

 

I'm always careful to load the strips with each round ahead of the round below it, but somehow it seems that half the time the first round is always rim-locked. The last 4 always work fine.

 

 

Anyone have any idea what im doing wrong or have any tips to using the clips so this wont happen?

Stagger the rounds on the ends of the clip so that neither of them will lock. If you only stagger one way you can stick the clip in upside-down and then get rimlock. Your other 4 rounds dont lock because of the interupter design therfore other than the first one, rims dont matter

can be define what you mean by stagger? I always check to make sure before i push the clip in that the top rounds rim is ahead of the one below it.. something must happen as im pushing it...

Do you get the slant like he does with the loaded rounds? They shouldnt be sticking straight up

Thats exactly how i've been doing it? Maybe when i shove them in im exerting force that pulles the top round back behind the one under it?

I have shot many Mosins and never had this ! But I here some do ,, Are you babying it ? Dont be nice, treat it like it was ment to be treated. Send that bolt in place

yea man, I need some range time. Just picked up 200 rounds of .223 and some .22. Need to order some more mak ammo though
