Smokin .50 1,907 Posted July 13, 2012 Tonight @ the Indoor Range. Registration starts @ 5:30-ish, and a Relay takes 40 minutes or so to shoot and score. $5.00 per Relay for Members. Non-Members pay $20.00 for 1st Relay and only $10.00 per Relay thereafter. We usually run between 7-10 Relays this time of year, depending upon how many each shooter wishes to do. Bring a hand gun that you're thoroughly familiar with, 60 rounds per Relay that you wish to shoot, and at least 4 mags or speedloaders. We draw a loaded sidearm from the holster or you may start at the "Low-Ready" position with the gun pointed at the floor with the safety on and NO finger on the trigger till the targets appear. A zippered gun bag or hard plastic case that you can place on the Range floor is required if you don't draw from a holster. We use timed turning silhouettes and feature target distances from 7-25 yards utilizing free-style offhand, strong hand only, sitting, prone and standing barricade shooting positions. Every hand gun you can shoot at a Steel Match has a Division: .22 Iron, .22 Open, Revolver Iron, Revolver Open, Auto Iron, and Auto Open (ALL 6 Divisions!). NO Magnums! Some loaner equipment such as extra mags, speedloaders, even a holster can be provided depending upon make/model of hand gun. ALL OB Rules and common sense safety rules apply. Only those shooters that have complete control of their muzzle direction and index finger will be allowed to participate. So if you're looking for a different approach to using your hand gun in a beginner-friendly atmosphere, come on out and give it a try!
