NJ-legal Krinkov - as a rifle?

Recommended Posts

Allowed one, the second makes it an assault weapon.

I'm sorry, but that isn't correct.

To rehash, you are allowed two evil features. In short, the features are

1) Detachable Magazine

2) Pistol Grip

3) Bayo lug

4) Collapsable or Telescoping stock

5) Threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, or a flash suppressor [muzzle brakes are okay].

Most people use #1 and #2, so they say things like QH did above (allowed '1' feature). However, if you have an M1A (M14) style rifle, you may go with #1 and #5 (good combo).

Cheers.

A detachable magazine is the qualifying feature that could or could not make a firearm an "assault weapon". Without the detachable magazine, it can not be classified as one in NJ according to the Admin Code. If the firearm has a detachable magazine, it can have ONE more evil feature.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. http://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcj/agguide/assltf.htm

Semi-auto and detachable magazine are qualifiers, if it is semi-auto, but fixed magazine the evil features do not apply, if it is detachable magazine but not semi auto the evil features do not apply. For shotguns, semi-auto is the only qualifier, there a detachable magazine is an evil feature itself.

Evil features:

Rifle:

1. folding or telescoping stock

2. pistol grip

3. bayonet mount

4. flash suppressor OR threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor

5. grenade launcher (rifle grenade, not M203)

Handgun:

1. magazine out of pistol grip

2. threaded barrel

3. shroud that enables you to hold with the non-trigger hand

4. >= 50oz unloaded, as manufactured

5. semi-auto version of automatic firearm

Shotgun:

1. folding or telescoping stock*

2. pistol grip*

3. fixed magazine of more than 5 rounds*

4. detachable magazine.

NOTE: For semi-auto shotguns there is also NJSA 2C:39-1w(3). Any semi-auto shotgun that has a folding stock, pistol grip, or a magazine (fixed is not specified), of greater than 6 rounds is an "assault weapon," regardless of what the NJ AG's guidelines say.

It is an assault weapon if it has TWO OR MORE, meaning you may have one, of the evil features, per the NJ AG guidelines.
