Luso 6 Posted December 26, 2012 Live in Bergen County. Work in Westchester County Now, from what I understand you can not even possess a handgun in Westchester county without first applying for their permit. What are the laws with 1. a non-resident achieving the ability to transport a handgun legally into westchester county to a place of business (I run the office, so employer permission is irrelevant) and 2. perhaps achieving a right to carry in NY/Westchester as an out of state resident. From what I read, they don't even give them out to instate residents. My office is in what can be at certain times a questionable area and I would feel better if I could legally carry on the job. Then I suppose I would have to lock it up every day to transport back home (it goes without saying, to also take the Tappan Zee and never go through the Bronx/GWB) Any insight on this from north Jersey folks? checko 180 Posted December 26, 2012 I though NY law says no handguns from out of state unless its a sanctioned NRA event, especially in NYC.
Luso 6 Posted December 26, 2012 I don't know...hence why I am asking. It's amazing to me CT has a pretty easy way to achieve CC while NY RI MA and NJ all realistically forbid it. Even easy to get CT out of state.

halbautomatisch 60 Posted December 27, 2012 I don't think non NYS residents can get any carry or possession permits in NYS.
Parker 213 Posted December 27, 2012 Every guideline I have read says "resident." Use that Westchester link I provided as your source and you'll get the answer.
Luso 6 Posted December 28, 2012 Thanks, I shot off an email to that address, and if they don't answer I can stop in their office in January after the holiday break
