As stated, a reloader should have a bullet puller, or you can purchace one, pull the bullets, pour the powder in some water. If the brass isn't going to be used again for reloads you can use WD40 or any type of spray lube or oil and spray/pour some into the cases to make the primers inert. If you are going to reuse the cases you will have to boil them out "after" the primers had time to soak in the oil. The bullets can be reused, and at the very least you can use the brass for scrap. A reloader can resize the cases and trim them to the proper length.

HA HA HA. Yes, you should do this because the police are your friends, fully understand all NJ firearms rules and regulations and will assume that you are an honest citizen trying to do the right thing.

They also have no idea what to do with it. When I was a kid the cop we bought the house form left a bunch of .223 and osme magazines there. My mom was all bent out of shape about it and wanted them gone. Getting the police to show up and take it was a huge PITA.
