Minimum barrel length for rifle - Chapter 54 expiration date Nov 2012

I know this has been clarified many times and there is NJ gun law summary.

Someone mentioned that they have been to local gun shops and was told that rifle minimum barrel length is 18 and not 16.

I know gun shops are not authority on gun laws (like that HP ammo discussion).

 

I checked NJSP links and the latest PDF I can see says Chapter 54 expires on Nov 2012.

Anyone has latest link to the code that defines the minimums ?

It did not expire. You received wrong information about that and about barrel length. Federal Law and NJ Law says rifles have to have a barrel length of 16", shotguns are 18", and AOL is 26".
