Hello, yes these are fun matches with a very nice group of hobbyists who welcome new attendees.  It is a relaxed safe atmosphere to enjoy shooting your collectible rifles and pistols, not a high pressure competition. Plus lunch included!

Safety first, as always.

Looks like a lot of fun!  Would a percussion Hawken-style rifle be allowed?  I don't own a flinter.

What about Cap-N-Ball Revolvers...will there be a Match involving them?

Thanks!

Dave

Hello Dave, the Hawken is not used in this match because it is a military themed event. No hand guns because there is no time for handgun events except for the Audie Murphy.  That is done on the outdoor rifle range. The Hawken is used in our Winter Shoot. Shongum does sponsor black powder even ts on the first Sunday of the month. If anybody wants to be put on the NJACC mailing list concerning shoots please contact [email protected]

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Club President has announced that he will allow m93/95 Mausers in the Span Am contest as the users were our allies and he wants the opportunity for attendees to use them. Because of a special contribution by a member for an additional trophy, attendees who have 7mm Mausers are invited to bring them.

The flyer and opening statement here lists the events planned. Since the Club President says the event will be rain or shine tomorrow, everything used may be water cooled to some extent. Although I think the Shongum range has an awning over the benches to keep the participants dry. :-)
