Should I Shoot Competition?

Recommended Posts

What the others have just said!  I consider it a lot like golf, you really compete against yourself.  Sometimes your mistakes get frustrating, but you feel great when you do things right.  The fun is in the experience.  People there are all very nice and will help you out and suggest ways to improve.  If they start ragging on you it means you have made friends.  Go out and try it, but be warned it is highly addictive.

As others have said, most of us compete against ourselves (especially those of us that shoot a revolver - really not much of a choice), but even if that were not so, the gun games are set up based upon ability. Within the different divisions there are different classes, based on ability. As you improve you move up in class. Everyone was new once - don't let your newbie apprehension impede your desire to try something new.

Somerset IDPA is two weeks from today on 10/20 - you have to pre-register here...

there are still some spaces left. This is a great newbie venue. Four stages and lots of friendly, helpful people. Hope to see you there.

Adios,
