Looks nice so far. What are you thinking for BUIS? Magpul low profile?

I am most likely going with some sort of 45* offset. I don't like how most 45* BUSs stick up so i may experiment with a pair of 45* rails and toss some MBUS or wait till the new MBUS come to market (if they havent already)

Looks good so far, I like it.  How do you like their uppers and lowers?  Was thinking about grabbing a set for a future build.

Well this is a HUUCR set so I expected there to be a blem or some fitment issues. The only blem i can see on this is that there is a slight error in the milling of one of the logos (not completely centered) They feel pretty solid. Nicer than some of the other's i've had my hands on. They feel a little lighter if that makes any sense. They fit very nicely together, there is no wiggle in the receiver and the parts kit fit in nicely. No problems with any parts install.

would i recommend them? Yes.. if you can get a set from Umbrella itself. Don't fall victim to these guys on GB selling receiver sets for over $400-500. I mean they are nice and have that POP culture Zombie culture appeal to them but they are not worth the exaggerated price that some charge for them. I got them because it's not something you see every weekend at the range and paid less than $400 per set.

I have  one more HUUCR set I'm using for a 300blk build and have a Billet lower and Standard upper on order for another build i plan on doing down the road.

If you can get your hands on a set cheap go for it!

side note: i REALLY like the feel of the Umbrella grips. The angle of the grip allows me to keep my elbow in and not feel like i have strain on my wrist. I'll be ordering a few more for the other builds.

I'm sure most of us in Central Jersey, Monmouth county know about Steve's compliance work but figured I put it out there for those that are looking for great work and reasonable prices.
Here's some pics of the brake up close and the pin/weld. That little dot is the pin and weld on the last image. Looks like factory! The other pics are just since I'm uploading anyways lol. What do u guys think about the red mag release. I'm on the fence on that. Gonna add a vertical foregrip and prob a red dot w/ irons when its all said and done.

so i came home from work today to find a nice package sitting on my front step. The next part of my Calico Jack build... my Spikes Tactical Billet upper.

I have been looking for a upper to go with my Calico Jack lower for a week or two now and finally ended up on the Spikes Upper. I decided to go with the spikes because the look of it was just intense. I like the hard mill lines and overall look of it. Plus i kind of like having a matching "branded" receiver set.

      Anyway here are some pics.

Next is to decide on the rail......  Seekins SPR3 maybe?...

So i finally got to take "Krystal", my Umbrella Corp. build to the range yesterday. Robs609 and my self helped Firearms Training Sepulveda Firearms Training film some instructional videos at Shooters last night. While Robs609 got to shoot her more than i did, i was able to pop off a few rounds and give a quick test to the Umbrella Corp BCG and SSA trigger i installed yesterday. Rob, Kharis and myself agree... the SSA Trigger is where it's at! So much smoother and tighter than the Spikes Battle Trigger i had in there before.

shot about 50 rounds w/no FTF or FTE with the new Umbrella BCG. More info on that after i get some more trigger time on her.

anyway, here are a few photos and vids from yesterday.. check out that muzzle flash! lol

Thanks to ROBS609 for being our designated shooter for the videos.

      anyway, thought we would share!

    • I think this ammo was bought during the pandemic where it seems like quality control went out the window.  I should have taken a picture of the primers today after shooting. Some had some pretty deep indents.  I shoot da/sa. The thing that was a bit alarming was sometimes it didn't go off on the second attempt of dropping the hammer and sometimes it did.
    • It’s possible it’s the ammo.  Try a box of something from Federal-Federal primers are known to be the ‘softest’.  If you get misfires still, the gun is again the prime suspect   of course you’ll ultimately want it to run with any ammo, but I’ve known revolvers that can’t seem to get to 100% ignition double action with any other primer
    • I've been getting light primer strikes lately with my CZ. It's happening mostly with some remington 9mm I bought.   It has an extended firing pin and is certainly hitting the primer so I don't believe it's that.  Maybe the spring needs replacement? I did the pencil test and the pencil flew about 7 feet.  Is it just hard primers/crappy ammo? Gun has about 7/8k rounds through it.
    • Happened almost a year ago (5/23/23) on Easton Ave. Has anyone heard anything more about this? I can't find anything on on google.
