wink-_-wink 1 Posted December 14, 2013 http://www.del-ton.com/ar_15_kits_s/1.htm I have been browsing reviews on these for a few hours now. Seems like the people who own them LOVE them and the people who don't... knock them. This is a interesting concept to me because I own a Taurus pistol that I got for $299 brand new and I have nothing but great things to say about it yet all my gun buddies make fun of it. My question is, are these worth it. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but these are SUPER cheap. I am wondering about how many rounds before these start to lose their positivity. I dont want to buy something that will crap out after a couple thousand rounds. Then again I am not looking to spend $2,000. Does anyone own one? How many rounds? Likes? Dislikes? Please no "I know a guy who knew a guy whos second cousins neigbor heard of a guy who owned one"...
jermz1987 243 Posted December 14, 2013 I had a del-ton upper and I never had any issues with it. Look into getting another for a different build.
wink-_-wink 1 Posted December 14, 2013 can you guess how many rounds? The more I look at them the more I like them plus they are so cheap! All I would need is a couple lower parts and I would havea full rifle for under 600, then I could use the rest of my "xmas gun money" on ammo and furniture for the rifle
dwamp2006 1 Posted December 14, 2013 You can do the same with palmetto state stuff, which has very good quality stuff.

wink-_-wink 1 Posted December 14, 2013 You can do the same with palmetto state stuff, which has very good quality stuff. Palmetto only has 1 kind in stock and its 699. would still need the stripped lower and the nj neutering so I will be closer to $1,000 and if I am going to do that then I would just buy an all up rifle for less. Do you know of anyone else who does rifle kits that arereasonable in both price and quality. Right now I am pretty sold on (http://www.del-ton.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RKT117&CartID=1) which comes with choice of 30 rd magpul or 10 round aluminum and then buying a Spikes stripped lower. I actually contacted Del-Ton to see if they have any discounts available right now for military or LEO.
dwamp2006 1 Posted December 14, 2013 you can wait and piece it together, ive been doing that and have all quality parts. I might have around $650 into my build including optics and im pretty much done.

n4p226r 105 Posted December 14, 2013 my question is, what is the chance you will want to modify this at all? any possibility of swapping the stock or putting a free float rail on it? if so, Pass. let me explain. without me even really shopping to compare prices i could come up with this. lower parts kit $55 http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/JBO_Lower_Receiver_Parts_Kit_p/jb-lpk.htm barrel, muzzle brake, BCG, upper receiver $364 http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/JoeBobOutfitters_16_M4_5_56_4140_Chrome_Moly_Barr_p/jb-16-m4-4140cm.htm barrel nut $10 http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Standard_AR15_Barrel_Nut_p/jb-barrelnut.htm delta ring assembly $11 http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Delta_Ring_Assembly_p/jb-delta.htm moe kit $99 http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/MGMOEKITBLK.aspx front sight post $30 http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR15-Front-Sight-F-Marked-p/front%20sight%20base%20-%20f%20750.htm that puts you at $570 plus lower vs $475 + muzzle brake + lower. the muzzle brake i picked out above was $70 so you are at $545 plus lower. i doubt you can get all the magpul moe hardware anywhere for $25. and its probably as good of a gun. possibly better.
