Lublin 3 Posted April 23, 2009 Hey everyone. Stopping in here to properly introduce myself. My name is Rich and I hail from Morris County, NJ. I'm looking forward to this NJ exclusive forum. Also looking forward to crossing paths with some of you for some good shooting. Be safe out there!

Lublin 3 Posted April 23, 2009 Welcome from Sussex County. What and where do you shoot? Ken Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I included a list of my toys in my signature. I currently shoot at the Bullet Hole in Belleville, NJ. It's a little annoying because it's a 40 minute hike out there, the wait is usually long and the parking is super sketchy, to say the least. I'm trying to find a closer/better/safer place to shoot. Any suggestions?

NJ-Tom 4 Posted April 23, 2009 Hello and Welcome ! Check out Cherry Ridge range in Highland Lakes. This is probably a 15 minute ride up route 23 for you. Take 23N make a right onto Canistear Rd (proceed approx 4 miles) make a right onto Range Road. Membership is the first Sunday of every month. http://www.anjrpc.org/index.htm
kenw 293 Posted April 23, 2009 I'm trying to find a closer/better/safer place to shoot. Any suggestions? I shoot at Cherry Ridge. There aren't a lot of choices up here in the great northwest. It's a nice range, with a variety of options from a short rifle/slug range (50/100 yds) out to a big bore range (200/300 yds), handgun range (out to 50 yds or so), trap range and .22 silo range for little bit of steel plinking. All outdoors, but stations are covered. Plenty of available lanes and parking hasn't been an issue so far. Bare bones otherwise... no rentals, no targets, no ammo. BYOG. It may be someplace you could look into, depending on where in Morris you are. The range is just up Rt. 23 in Highland Lakes. http://www.anjrpc.org/cherry_ridge.htm Ken

Thanks so much for this heads up. This is exactly what I'm looking for. I live right off of Route 23 in Kinnelon and this range is about 20 minutes from me. I'll be taking a trip up there as soon as I get my AR together. Group trip, anyone?
Lublin 3 Posted April 23, 2009 Both you and I have to look into Riverdale http://www.riverdalepistol.org/ I've considered the RPC but I wouldn't be able to shoot my rifles or shotguns there. I know a few people that work/go there.

The website says you should fill out a membership form and show up at a Tuesday night orientation as per the range calendar, but no orientations are scheduled through June. I guess I'm going to look into Cherry Ridge more closely now.
