  1. haha. Thanks to Creedmoor Sports, I got a Labradar. What a great piece of equipment!
  2. Another python? Why oh why. Must get. Comes with case or box or anything?
  3. My understanding is the same... It is one or the other but not back and forth. @FreedomSportsLLC
  4. Radical Firearms gun will likely be not found in stores. Looking over the features, it is really basic. One of the first things is 4140 CMV vs 4150 you will generally find on the Troy and others. While very few will generally heat up the guns to make the difference, it does tell you where corners are cut or prices kept lower. No sights, basic flash hider (versus a very nice muzzle brake found on the Dark Storm or Comp/flash hider on the Troy). Standard mil spec kit likely, i.e. basic charging handle. Looks like it does have ambi safety though which is nice. It is a 13" barrel which is the longest out of all of the existing guns. So it is neither here or there. So in reality, $650 for the gun, $38 for the shipping, $50 for the transfer, you are $738 for the gun. Add in your basic upgrades, back up sights, etc, you are in for another couple hundred. Which at that point you are in the MM/Dark Storm where you are getting billet upper/lowers, upgraded charging handles, nice fit and finish, good muzzle devices and more or less local manufacturers who stand behind their products. If I wanted to get into the Non-NFA game... I would either buy one of thoe three guns, OR... build your own and be in it for under $450 or $500 with a complete upper from PSA or someone else. I will reach out to them and see if they want to send a sample gun.
  5. Yes, lower weight match bullets are cheaper but also partly due to more of them being produced and less overall materials cost. Even still though, at shorter distances, say under 300 yards, I doubt anyone will see much difference in group sizes between 55 grain eld match and 77 grain. Some of the best results I got with 223 was the regular HPBT 55 grain... unless you are shooting longer distances where bullet passes back subsonic, I think shooting the meaningfully more expensive on a % basis bullets is a waste. To each their own though I suppose? and that is why we have some gun owner who can't shoot minute of barn buy guns capable of .25 moa. =P But I do buy my 223 bullets in bulk and quite like the xtreme plated 223 55 grain. Works fine for 95% of shooting under 300 yards here. @Greenday let me know if you want to borrow or use my chrono.
  6. hehe. This time it all went very smoothly. Only issue is the dang chat... where the latest version is sooo stupid buggy.
  7. Yes, standard magnum bolt face as it is based on the 300 RCM. I do agree that the standard action/magnum bolt face may not be that easy to find but seems like folks are not having too many difficulties and currently out of the big guys, you have Ruger, Savage, Mossberg and Bergara chambering rifles in 6.5 PRC on their standard actions. Up soon will be Howa and more from other existing companies (which I can't say). Howa does have the smaller actions so it would be oddball there. Uses standard AICS 2.95" mags so no issues there. As far as too much? Doesn't stop folks from buying 50 BMG, 338 Lapua and other large magnums in NJ. =P And plenty of folks drive out to Mifflin and upstate NY. But you are right, it is not a major mover here when most folks won't have a chance to shoot past 200.
  8. Interesting... the PRS guys that played with 6xc... all swap at around 1,000 to 1,500.
  9. If your gun is suited to heavier bullets. I.e. I have at least one AR with a 1 in 12 twist that won't stabilize 69 and 77. LOVES 55 and under. @JackDaWack And of course much cheaper bullets. For plinking ammo won't really make a difference.
  10. LOL. Of course and I did not even use one myself at first, but then I realized how crazy I was not to use one once I got one. =P For range ammo, I agree it does not matter much as long as you are not getting squibs and are paying attention to the brass and pressure signs. But if you are loading match ammo or for any gun games, you are missing the boat. Seriously, you go "by the book" for velocity data but it is likely quite a bit off. @cabalrayz It's okay to disagree but would really mean more if you actually said why. =P
  11. I am dumbfounded how you or anyone else can get into reloading and subsequently hand loading and NOT having a chronograph. It's like being a PC tuner without the ability to measure temperature, or a mechanic working on engines and not having access to the ECU or a dyno. Following the "book" load is all fine and dandy BUT when you are playing near max loads (and generally that is where the majority of people choose to go), you NEED to know the velocity numbers out of YOUR gun, at YOUR elevation, in YOUR shooting environment. This is far more critical than going down the rabbit hole of cleaning primer pockets, lol. And btw, the Chronograph, may just tell you that all of the meticulous case prep work you are doing does not make any difference in the actual results as the powder charge you are at is not in an accuracy node. Get a chronograph, do a ladder test with your chosen powders and bullets, find the accuracy nodes, load some up, throw them at paper, generally the accuracy node will equate to nice tight groups (due to low extreme spreads and standard deviation), and then go down the rabbit hole to see how much more good prepwork can cut down in group size. GET or borrow a chronograph.... either a cheap $100 Shooting Chrony/Competition Electronics OR a $500 LabRadar. But without knowing the ACTUAL velocities, you are shooting with half of the information. If you want to borrow my chrono, you are more than welcome to... just remember, you shot it, you bought it. Or you can come shoot with me and try out my new LabRadar.
  12. If you are cleaning primer pockets you are wasting time... especially if you are not shooting benchrest. You can clean them if you want, but the vast majority of guys and gals I know from the precision game quit doing that. Unless you dug up the brass that had been deprimed and then burried, there is little reason to. It's simply overkill.
  13. 6's are far bigger barrel burners than 6.5... Yes, long range hunting is a big big deal for this cartridge.
  14. Barrel life will likely be a tad shorter than 6.5 CM but far better than 6.5x284, 6.5GAP and others. Why not a full blown 300 magnum? More recoil, heavier guns/ammo. As far as gun games... not a lot of folks going to 6.5 PRC as the hot rod is 6mm CM and other 6mm hot rods... they just accept that they will replace barrels. After spending $10k to get a kit for PRS... what's another $500 per year on a new barrel? =)
  15. So looks like you have encouraged MM to get me a gun. lol. Apparently I should be getting one. Will keep in the loop.
  16. Chat is up on new server so after tonight will be up.
  17. Scheduled downtime today around 10 or 11PM. Will be doing the move for the site to the new server. Should take a few hours and will post a temporary link to use until the IP propogates.
  18. YES. ITAR. Apparently ATN scopes were confiscated and found by ICE being sent over to Canada, Hong Kong and Netherlands.
  19. Moving to an upgraded server. Most stuff is already moved over but thinking around 10PM will close this up and then will just wait for new server IP to propagate.
  20. Take a screenshotplease. Would start with clearing out the cache/temp files. Also try different browser? Are you running any mobile extensions?
  21. Quite a few... More velocity and energy than 6.5 CM with all of its inherent benefits, and feeds perfectly well in top loading rifles for hunting. High BC out of a 6.5 projectile that STILL FITS a standard action without having to go to a large magnum action. This was actually not a brand brand new cartridge but has been around in competitive shooting circles as a hot rod for a while. Come shoot it @Shane45 .
  22. Yes, site was down in the morning due to a brain fart on the hosting company's part, But should be no problem on phones. Can you take a screen shot? Power button + volume down key at the same time. Loads fine here though on multiple browsers (Chrome + opera) on mobile.
