  1. Every tme I have been there there has been an RSO and theyhave been on top of things. I have noticed that a few times he went out into the shop for a few. I have not witnessed anyone loading behind the line though. That would disturb me and I would say something to the person, politely of course.
  2. How do you like the P30? My wife is looking at a new pistol and that is one on her list.
  3. Any time I spend with my guns is relaxing. Whether cleaning or tinkering, I put on some country music and time runs away.
  4. Welcome, you will love your CZ.My CZ75 has been a great pistol.

    Mossberg JIC

Yes it is legal as long as you do not go under the minimum overall length. I believe the JIC is a repackaged Mossberg Cruiser. Which has been sold for years in NJ.

    Ruger 10/22

There are a few places you can buy all of the parts neede for a build if you have the money to spend. Go to RFC and look at their vendor list. All the parts you could imagine, and then some. I built one for my wife last year from one I had on hand.

    Ruger 10/22

Any 10/22 I have shot has been reliable and accurate. The 597 from my understanding is accurate but can have reliability issues.
  8. Welcome, you may want to check out Fort Dix rod and gun club. Here is their web site http://www.dixmwr.com/Recreation%20_Fac ... n_Home.htm

    first shotgun

Both will do just fine. I am partial to Mossbergs because their safety and action bar release are more comfortable for me. The only bad thing about a Mossberg is if you want to put a pistol grip on it, the tang safety is not as easy to use as it is on an 870. I have beaten the hell out of 870's and 500/590's and they can take it. A friend has an Ithica and loves it.
  10. The rifles are on the wall behind the pistols, close to the door that leads to the range.
  11. Never tell the person processing your paperwork how to do their job. Impressions and presentation is 1/2 of the battle. Be curteous and humble, it goes a long way. Yes you have to provide references again, but refingerprinting is not required. I happen to live in a good town as it only takes 2 weeks for my permits to come back. It is normally a good idea for anyone getting their initial FID card to also put in for pistol permits and when you put in for more permits put in for two at a time. Even if you do not use them you can extend them for another 90 days. Good luck
  12. Call Brick Armory. They like politically incorrect, but NJ legal rifles. They will have your answer.
  13. Another thing that adds to it is they allow and rent rifles. They have an AK and AR for rent. It does get loud along the back wall. The problem I have is I have had too many guns, cannons and explosives go off around me, loud noise is not an issue anymore. Low noise is because I can't hear it.
  14. I had my kids there today. The staff talks to them and jokes around with them. They made them feel comfortable.
  15. It is a great place to shoot. I was there yesterday and today. Staff is very friendly.
  16. I had my kids at the range this morning. The place was packed and there was some big guns going off. My daughter,5, kept her hands over her ear muffs the whole time.So she did not shoot. My son ,8, didn't mind the noise and shot a 22 pistol and an old savage 22 that we customized for him. It was his first time with a rifle and I discovered he is right handed left eye dominent. He did ok, but the main thing is wants to go back. Both love reloading with me and pheasent hunting so this is promising.
  17. Welcome, my wife is wanting a P30. She loves HK's. The best tip can provide is practice. There is no substitute for it. I consider myself a pretty good shot, but after not shooting for a year made me humble on the first magazine.
  18. If she is open to revolvers, a 357 would allow her to shoot 38 specials to start and 357 mag if she wants more power.
  19. A meet and shoot sounds like fun. Fire up the grill and send rounds down range. What more could you want out of a day. I was originally drawn to Dix because of the cost. Central Jersey and Old Bridge are expensive and required work details or they would charge you more. Als, I work odd hours and can not make the 3 mandatory meetings for membership. Then the competitions every weekend might interfere when I want to shoot. The only thing Dix does is close down the pistol range for Hunters Ed courses sometimes.
  20. You go through Cookstown along the east side of Mcguire and you go into the range area, our range is #14. The nice thing is we are in the middle of the Army ranges as well. There is nothing like hearing 50's and Mk19's shooting along side of you.
