I picked up the rifle yesterday. It looks sweet and in great shape. So how does one set the gas system? I see the numbers but which hole do you start with and is that the number on the top? How far are the casings supposed to fly? Thanks

I just aquired a Vet Bring back mismatched Svt40. Can anybody tell me what ammo is best for these? I have some non corrosive brass cased 7.62x54r in the spam cans. I also have some of the green laquered cased in the blue boxes in the wood crate. I also see there are other types avaliable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

ammoman has 900 rounds of Yugo 8mm mauser for $170 or so out the door. It is the best surplus 8mm in my opinion.

I dont think they have shut down. They have changed there business pratices. I know the semi auto MG42/M53 is a popular item they sell.

Pk90 posted on ar15 that he will have the letter today.

They will be selling the Kahr/Auto Ordnance carbines. This will be the only type allowed. As for the quailty control, that remains to be seen. One bad review and there all bad?? I know that Kahr does stand behind there products and they do come with a 1 year warranty.

I called over to BA to try to order one and they did confirm they have a letter confirming what tbtrout stated. Cant wait to get my hands on one.

It would depend on the situation.I used to have a Mossberg 500 originally. When I became 21 I got a Sig 226.If I was to use a shotgun again I would my Mossberg 500 Bullpup. They are the best home defense shotgun in my opinion.

This was a rare WW1 era mod done to the 98 series rifle. The springfield 03 had a 25round mag like this for airplane use.The k98 mags are extremely rare to find as originals because they were field mods. Instead you find fantasy items like the one in the auction. I have seen guys try to use these for WW2 reenacting and they get be laughed at. You would think the Germans would have used up the large surplus Mg13 mags this way. It would have helped even up the fight against the garands and m1 carbine.

I once blew apart a K43. It was not cool but was caused by a one improperly made part. You always take this chance shooting mil surplus weapons.

It is a German M34 Helmet. It was used as a police or firemans helmet. Some of them have a neck skirt folds out of the liner. The chin strap sounds wrong. As for the name it was common to see a name written in ink on the liner or painted on the helmet brim.
