  1. For precision shooting check out this article. Accurate Shooter It's a little dated but has info you can use. Once you know what kind of shooting you will be doing you can pick a reticle type and scope power. You may get away with an inexpensive scope for a 22 used for plinking, but a high power rifle with some recoil will need a solid scope. A scope that holds zero and has positive adjustments that actually change when you turn the knobs. My complaint with many scopes is they don't make fine adjustments very well. One or two clicks may or may not move the reticle until you fire. If you are serious, this is a good place to start. My choice. There are others, but this is my choice. My two cents worth. I only shoot a rimfire rifle but have gone through a progression of "good" scopes and ended up satisfied with a Nightforce a couple of thousand dollars later. Don't cut corners on a scope. You might change rifles but can swap the scope to the next rifle. Have fun researching and shopping for your scope.
  2. Not yet. Did not even think of Harry's. Thanks.
  3. Where can I go, within a 1 or 1.5 hour drive of Trenton, to see and handle an assortment of quality EDC knives? I am looking for a nice pocket knife to start with. I see lots of pictures and descriptions on line but I need hands on to make a decision.
  4. Parking sucks. Lot not plowed very well. Crowded. Stinky. Great, if you like to get pushed and bumped. Not much to see either. After making my way around I asked "Where's the rest of the show?" Sorry that's it sir. My first and last Rodeway Inn show. In my very very humble opinion not worth the gas or 6 bucks entry with coupon. Cabela's was also crowded with an estimated 4 hour wait for NICs don't know how accurate that is but, there were at least a hundred people in line. I was there around 2 PM. I did have a nice lunch at the Fogelsville Hotel though. Dinner is also very good there. YMMV!
  5. Try here 223-556 ammo They have PMC Bronze for 5.69 per 20 round box, both 55 gr and 62 gr. X-TAC. $300.06 for 1000 rounds shipped and insured to your door. I've shot 1000s of this and no problems of any kind in a SIG 556. HTH
  6. I'm not saying it is bogus. Just don't think everything is known about the whole incident and court convictions at this time. Also I don't know just how much interaction there was between the rally promoters and the beneficiary. I think he is nuts if he is turning down offers of help from the SAF, ANJRPC and NJ2AS. From the tone of "his" email "he" thinks the organizations are using him for their benefit. Something's fishy. Just my, ever so humble, opinion.
  7. WTF? I just got a alert from SAF about the rally and passed on the info to some friends that are not active on the web. Now I see it is canceled. Are we going to get the truth now? Was there more to the story? I don't like being embarrassed by promoting a cause and find out later it is bogus.
  8. Something can be done about it. I can complain! Or just stay away from things that I dislike. If I get to see an ad for Liberals every time I sign in I just won't sign in here. It really sucks to see liberal causes and liberal anti gun politicians advertised on a Pro gun forum. Kind of oxymoronic.
  9. Nightvision Sales Coupon for $25.00 Plus up to $80.00 rebate off already good prices. I think some free shipping too.
  10. It was on the sign in page. Today it is for something else. I have to sign in every time because my browser deletes all cookies when I close the session. You probably won't see it if you have automatic sign in.
  11. Maks, did you have to take a ad for Adler? I figure it is from Google, right?
  12. +1 There is no excuse for a sales person to be that way. I don't care if it's the 1,000,000th time that day for the same question. It is a fresh face in front of you and you need to start fresh to help them buy something. If I don't get the kind of service I expect I vote with my feet. That's why I will never go to a few stores around here. I will drive farther and spend more time to go where I am treated well. I have gone to a store, with permit to purchase and cash in my pocket, and walked out after 5 minutes without the gun they had that I had wanted. Their loss, not mine.
  13. Here's a good site to check heating oil prices. Trends.I hate to part with a buck and have been procrastinating about filling my tank for the season.(550 gal.) It has only cost me about a hundred or so since the middle of Sept. Price may be tapering off now. I hope so because I won't have any choice soon.
  14. Thank you! I wouldn't drink it anyway but I do use it for everything else.
  15. Here's a 22lr for sale with great trigger. CZ 453 I know the guy selling this and can get a better deal for you too.
  16. Would you pay $8.65 a week to shoot at CJRPC whenever you want? As often as you want? As long as you want? Would you pay $6.75 a week for the same thing? Join and attend 4 meetings a year and shoot for $6.75 a week for two years. If for some reason you make it three years the weekly cost drops to $5.75 a week if you do the 4 meetings a year. Sign up a new member and save another $50.00 as many members as you can, 50 each. Do a little volunteering and save another 50 per year. No excuses!!!!!! I bet some of you guys drop $20 or $30 bucks a week on lattes. Just sayin. Oh yeah, how much is it to shoot indoors at BA or SS?
  17. Sorry but I did not offer financial planning. I hope you do make it more crowded. You can even use my name and badge number as a reference on your application if you want.
  18. Now that I think about it, CJRPC was a little crowded last Sunday AM. I think I'll ask them to raise the dues at the next meeting. Really! I'm getting tired of hearing about how expensive CJRPC is! If I can afford it anyone can. Lunicy has it right in the post above. If you(anybody) can't gather up two or three hundred all at once, you need some financial counseling.
