  1. Try http://www.nationallawnequipment.com/ in Mahwah, off Rt 17 north next to Home Depot. I don't know if they carry your brand there, but I just picked up some carriage bolts and nuts for my Craftsman.
  2. I'm Irish, so Murphy's Law applies...I ordered a replacement shave plate for the snowblower last week, before the forecast. Estimated delivery was today from Ohio. It's been sitting in Parsippany since Saturday morning, and is still there. The bastards at USPS are potentially making my life hellish. By the way, in addition to the Facebook site, what weather sites do you all trust? I bounce between weather.com and news.
  3. I first started in about 5th grade shooting .22 revolvers at the hometown range's turkey shoot. Nothing much after that until about 5 years ago, when I bought a 12 gauge, a 10/22, and several 9mm pistols. I learned to shoot them at the same range in Waldwick that I did the turkey shoots at. Safety first, second, and always. Great bunch of men and women, all local from the area, and a nice diverse crowd who hangs out in the lounge when not on the line. It's humbling when you complain about a pistol being "off," you let an "old-timer" try it out, and he nails bulls eyes every time. Then corrects you on your stance, grip, etc. I'll admit that I'm STILL learning!
  4. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!
  5. Great scenery across the river. Just seeing his fingernails on his right hand after the first hit gave me willies. My friend/neighbor used to be an Olympic class diver. He used to travel the world giving diving exhibitions. One time he was in Mexico cliff diving and shattered his leg. He ended up getting an MBA from Wharton. He makes good money now, and is one of the best at what he does. He even had a Sports Illustrated cover. But walks with a nasty limp.
  6. Yard work (covering deck furniture and hanging Christmas lights)=Coors in a can. Extra Gold is $17/30. Later on for the town Christmas parade I may break out the hot cider with Jameson's.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, and a Happy Hanukkah! I was proud that the students in my school filled a Pod container with donated food for the local food pantries. Aside from being an American, I am thankful for my wife, my two girls, my two boys (dogs), and my family. I try to give thanks to God every day, but as the "patriarch" of my young family, saying grace before tomorrow's feast shows my daughters that we should have humility in our lives. I love Thanksgiving!
  8. Great site! Found what I was looking for, but sadly I have no dough. I passed it along to friends!
  9. Why bother using guns when you can just rile up a mob to set fires that kill white interlopers.
  10. Nothing fancy, just Sam Adams Winter Lager.
  11. Sweet siblings! I love my 75 BD, and would buy an SP-01 Tactical in a heartbeat if I had the funds. Enjoy them!
  12. Anytime I hear .38 Special is a great moment in my day! Take it as coincidence, or God smiling down at you.
  13. Welcome from the northern part of rt 17!
  14. Ask and ye shall receive...15 rounds to boot! CZ 75 BD. Decocker version, and my favorite handgun, over my 92fs. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=369941441 Go, go, go! You will NOT be disappointed! Shoots like a laser, and ergos are awesome.
  15. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=369941441 If you're still looking, great price, and 15 round mags, but a decocker. I love, love mine!
  16. Beretta CX4. Mix and match 92fs or PX4 mags using only an insert. Or Cougar mags too, not sure about those, don't have a Cougar.
  17. Speaking of online shops shipping or replacing or modifying mags, has anyone here dealt with Kentucky gun company or Damascus? They seem to be the place to find CZs, but they all have >15 round mags.
  18. I was able to make it to the funeral today, chaperoning a group of my students from the high school I work at in Ramsey (Catholic, not public). My relatively small town, which still retains much of the small town qualities, has now experienced three combat deaths of our sons in the past three years. Too many. Staff Sergeant Timothy McGill initially enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2001. He served with distinction in Iraq, and after being discharged he signed on with the Army National Guard where he was assigned to the 1st Group Special Forces. He ultimately was deployed to Afghanistan as a Green Beret in 2011. He was posthumously presented with the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. I have attended funeral services for fallen firefighters from 9/11, and friends of the family who were law enforcement. At 43 years old, this was my first military funeral. And I am glad that I was there, not for the circumstances, but for the renewal of the knowledge that the men and women who risk and sacrifice all for our country are our next door neighbors, our former students (in my case), the father or mother of the the little kid on your child's soccer team. The students that I had with me were respectfully awestruck at the show of support that the USMC, the US Army, the USAF, the USN, the Ramsey FD, the Ramsey Public Works, and the public attendees showed. As was I. Not many things humble me, but today was one of them. I bumped into a few of my former students, who were classmates of Tim McGill when I worked at the high school many years ago. I thought that it shouldn't take a tragedy such as this to bring us back together. My 8 and 6 year old girls did not go to the ceremony, but many of the teachers in their elementary school did, since Tim was "one of their's." Sorry for the rambling, but I know that many of you have been through this once, twice, many times. And for those of you who have served, or are active, from my family and me, thank you, be safe, and God Bless. And to Staff Sergeant Timothy McGill, Godspeed.
  19. Update on times: Funeral Friday morning, Oct. 4. 10 am at St. Paul's RC Church, Wyckoff Ave in Ramsey, 07446
  20. Inquiring minds want to know!
  21. Update on the services... I talked to a few of my friends who are on the Ramsey fire department. They are helping with the coming home ceremony for Army Staff Sgt. Timothy McGill. Unfortunately, my small town in Bergen County has experience with fallen servicemen. As of now, details are foggy as to when Army Staff Sgt. Timothy McGill will be arriving, due to international flights and the NJ Tpke traffic issues, but it's looking like early afternoon on Monday, Sept. 30. There will be a memorial procession down the main street of town (aptly named "Main St."). The wake will be on Tuesday, and I'm assuming that it will be at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Burial services will be on Wednesday, location unknown. None of this is etched in stone, but I trust my friends who will be in full dress those days. On Monday I'll be there with my my wife to view the procession, and we're taking our girls out of school early to bring them as well. Please, if you have the time, and if you're close, attend as well. It may be a good experience for your kids as well.
  22. RIP Sgt. McGill. Another fallen hero from my town, my family and I will try to attend the service.
  23. Holy crap I hope that this is true! I started laughing in the parking lot of my daughter's school when I saw the photo! Too funny!
  24. Richard Bruce Van Hine, FDNY Squad 41, South Bronx June 25, 1953-September 11, 2001 If you too are mourning, please feel free to add the names of your loved ones.
