there is NO PROOF that she DIDNT secure the guns. all the media is saying is he got the guns from his mom. do you really think theyre telling you the whole truth. with the anti-gun ghouls frothing at the mouth at this opportunity, and the media firmly planted in their pocket, even if there is irrefutable evidence that all her guns were securely locked or safe, you will never hear a word of it.

there is already no tax on gun safes in nearly every state, including NJ. i think NY has tax but not sure

if you remove your own legal guns from the house, you are giving up your freedoms and your rights. just as you have a right to own guns in this county, at least for now, you also have the right to not own them. but that is the citizens PERSONAL choice. but to ever have a law REQUIRING you to surrender all your guns just because someone in your house is unstable is where i draw the line. as far as other precautions, what can you actually do to prevent a premeditated act like this. its the same argument used over and over...you CANT stop crazy. if someone snaps, for whatever reason, there is little to nothing you can do to stop them without directly intervening. the aurora shooter could have easily made homemade bombs and tossed them into the theater, killing far more then he did with guns. the guy in china just recently stabbed several school children with a knife.

i got one for 6 and change shipped a few months ago. came direct from hong kong. its NOT SUPPOSED TO BE your one and only light, its NOT SUPPOSED TO BE a weapon mount. for $6, what do you expect??? what it is, is an excellent everyday task light, spare, glovebox, toolbox, etc. i had it in my pocket non-stop during the sandy outage, and it worked 100%. the close focus is more then bright enough to light a room, let alone a walkway. the far focus can reach an amazing distance and still be bright enough to see. i was able to to hit the roof of my garage from my second floor window, approx. 50ft away, through 2 panes of glass, and rain, and could easily see every shingle.

it doesnt hurt to get every one you can. if you ever plan to travel to a certain state, its helpful to have that specific state's permit, whether another states permit is valid there or not. i have florida, arizona, virginia, new hampshire, and connecticut. CT is close enough that i can conceivably go there for some reason, plus they do NOT accept any other state permit, but its easy to get their non-resident permit. florida covers VA, but since i have family there and may go at some point, i got the VA just in case.
