  1. Man, Is this some kind of virus? Is it contagious? Just kidding, I caught it 15 years ago
  2. Thanks, that was what I was wondering, whether they were standard small pistol or some special type that is the same size as small pistol. I only have a few of each so I'm not going to load them, I was just wondering what the deal was.
  3. I was sorting my range brass and found some Federal NT in 45 that have small primers. Sorting some more I found a couple of Fiocchi casing that also have small primers. I am guessing these are from their lead free lines. Why do they use small primers for the "less toxic" lines of ammo? Anyone have a clue?
  4. Glad it worked for you too. Just have to remeber to take whats on the internet for exactly what you paid for it.
  5. Just making an assumption here, but since the 20 year old was hit after going through the 2 kids, she was probably in the room also. What the F*** was she thinking letting a 3 year old near the gun?
  6. I had the same problem on a 2009 Inox. The lanyard loop would not move. I got a roll pin punch and "persuaded" the pin out with a rubber mallet. After replacing the spring I "persuaded" the pin back in. and everything is fine.
  7. Yes, clean and lube them. You need to get the protectant off as powder sticks to it. Follow the video and take your time. If something doesn't seem like its working right, start that part over and do it again until you are comfortable that it is right. When I was setting mine up, I thought things were all screwed up, but after taking a breather and coming back to it, things went together smoothly, with only mninor adjustments needed. Things to watch out for: The video that came with mine had me looking for the "EJECTOR BAR", this was a part from an earlier version and does not exist on the newer ones like yours and mine. Make sure you clean and lube the primer feed slot. any little particles in the track will cause a hard time getting primers to seat properly. After loading, and the primer slide is held back by the fiberglass rod, hold the slide with your hand while you pull the rod out and then slowly let the slide go forward. If you just pull the rod, the slide rams into the primer seater and will damage the primer slide.
  8. does he do absolutely everything, or do you still have to get paperwork yourself I got the paperwork from Florida. No biggy just go to the website enter your information and you'll get a packet within a week.
  9. +1 I used GFH to get the prints photo, and notary. They also look over the application to make sure you didn't miss anything or filled out any section improperly. Was definitely worth the trip. In and out in about 1/2 hour.
  10. Member pled guilty to acting to his personal discredit and to the discredit of the Division by engaging in a verbal altercation with the staff of a retail store while offduty. Member was suspended for eight (8) days. 8 days suspension for having an argument with a clerk at a store while off duty? Bit excessive I'd say.
  11. I'm gonna go with they have no Constitutional right to build anything. Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. They have a constitutional right to practice their religion, not to put up a building. Anyone who has ever got a building permit or has a house in an historical district knows just how much the government decides what you can and can't build.
  12. I guess that makes anyone in NJ government ineligible to purchase a firearm.
  13. There are a lot of similar complaints over at cabelas about RCBS crimp remover I got a Hornady carbide bit and chucked it in a VS drill. makes very short work of crimps. The carbide will last a loooongggg time when cutting brass.
  14. Take it for what your paying for it but You need a FID to PURCHASE ammo that can be used in a handgun in NJ, not to posess it. Kinda of like, if you move from say PA to NJ with a handgun legally acquired in PA, you do not need to do anything to posess it in NJ.
  15. speaking of nit-pickin... retractable/telescoping/folding stocks are not legal on semi-auto rifles that have detachable magazines and already have one other of the evil features pistrol grip flash hider bayonet lug grenade launcher. AND that are "substantially identical" to firearms on "the list". =) BACK AT YA!!!! This take us back to the OP's "Just trying to make sense of the non-sensical laws. "
  16. This is not meant to take a shot at you but will they treat 9/15 the same way they treat 30 days for a permit, or how Lautenmummy's name got on the ballot after the legal date? It seem the government only holds to dates when its convenient for them.
  17. I'm trying to find this "chicks with guns" thread. where is it? viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5194&hilit=chicks viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9745&hilit=chicks
  18. Call and ask. Each department does it a little differently. I went a week before mine expired, and had it extended within 15 minutes. Some departments want you to wait until it expires, but its best to check.
  19. Hey whats wrong with being a drunken Irish coworker? (Yes I've been that coworker before)
  20. What about the ceiling? This is typically plywood. I don't think I'd take the risk of accidentally putting a bullet into living space. If I shoot in my house, it's gonna be because of an emergency not a convenience.
  21. It's a permit to PURCHASE not to posess. As long as you are transporting the handgun legally there is no official need to have it. And if you are doing something illegal and get caught your screwed wheter you have it or not. For example if you lived in PA, legally bought a handgin in PA and then moved to NJ. You legally have the gun in NJ even though there is no purchase permit, nevermind a pink copy. That being said, since NJ gun laws are so convoluted and confusing where the only way to get an answer is through a case by case determination from a judge, I carry a copy in my range bag just in case.
  22. Darwin would have been if the 2 "adults" in this picture took themselves out of the gene pool. There is nothing good when a young child is killed because of the action/inaction of an adult.
  23. The FID (or HG purchase permit) is actually required to handle a firearm is actually a law or maybe a "guidance", I can seem to find it, but I've seen it posted at Meltzer's Sporting Goods. Think about it, whats the first thing the salesman asks if you ask to look at a gun? "Do you have your FID?" The reason I asked this was the other day, I went into Dicks to look at a 10/22, when I got there I realized I had cleaned my wallet out and put my FID away. The clerk would not let me handle the rifle. Let me rephrase a little bit. If I rent a gun and buy ammo to shoot, No ID required. If I walked into the range with my own handgun and wanted to purchase 50 rounds to shoot they would need my FID and log the ammo sale.
