  1. You can shoot 22lr or .223 with frangible ammo. I think you need to be a member and buy the ammo there to shoot the .223. Maybe Kyle can jump in and answer the question fully.
  2. The plague continues. Congrats.
  3. My $.02 I think if there has to be an age, then 21 is much better than 18. Most 18 year old now a days has the behavior attitudes of a 15 year old. Not a scientific study but talking with people I work with who have college age kids. If you ask a High School senior what he wants to do with his life, the answer is "go to college". When you ask "No after college" you get a blank stare. There is a huge mental awakening when you reach an age when you realize mommy and daddy aren't gonna take care of me for the rest of my life. As to military, the members of the military come to that conclusion about 10 minutes into boot camp.
  4. This is exactly what the anti's are afraid of. You are not a LEO! You don't know the whole story, what if that unarmed person is a drug dealer being arrested by an undercover cop? You SHOULD be able to protect yourself and family and even those with you. But a stranger, no, call the cops, watch and be a witness.
  5. I looking for around 1K-2K FMJ bullets for range use. The only ones I seem to be able to find (in stock that is) are from Montana Gold but they are 142 grain. I have not found a load for these bullets. Main reason for FMJ is indoor shooting. Any one know of a alternate source or a load for 142 grain FMJs, in 38 or 357?
  6. Unless the gun you are looking at is a hard to obtain one, best bet is to get your permit, have your mom give you the money, and you make the purchase and fill out the paperwork in your own name. That takes the legal "Grey area" out of the purchase.
  7. Isn't this the same as a justifable need? The judge gets to decide what the need is and limit the permit to whatever he wants.
  8. Actually by law there is a waiting period of 7 days. 2C:58-2a(5)(a) Such person possesses and exhibits a valid permit to purchase a firearm and at least seven days have elapsed since the date of application for the permit; But with the 30 day (yeah right) turn around it becomes a moot point. But theoretically if the PD turns a permit application around in 3 days and you buy a gun the day you get the permits you are violating the law.
  9. TSA Motto: Proof, We don't need no stinkin proof! They sexually assault you without any proof. Remember threatening to levy $11000 fine against the "don't touch my junk" guy beacause he left the building when told to.
  10. I'm surprised you didn't get the "call a lawyer" response. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the NJSP Website The New Jersey State Police is not authorized to provide legal advice to private parties. 11. Now going after 1st admendment as well as fourth. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Boy, The TSA is on a roll.
  12. One stop shopping. NJGUNFORUMS has it all. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9585-ffl-fees/

  14. No. This is NJ after all. Money to be had all around. We donate to SAF to allow them to sue NJ (I did). NJ puts on a defense (guess who gets to pay all those lawyers). Suit is either won or lost. Next plantiff comes around and we do it all again. When all is said an done NJ politically connected lawyers win. They are just like bookies, they take their share win, lose or draw.
  15. Don't think so. My town sent out reference forms for FID, but when I went in to apply for more permits, nothing was sent out no calls made to references. I'm pretty sure the references are an "at police discretion" thing. If they have recent info on you why would they need to get the same info again. It seems like Nutley PD "gets it".
  16. The ESS system only works if you have a pretty light RX. I am -4.5 and tried them, the RX lense insert hit the protective lenses and distorted vision badly. I wound up with a pair of Randolph Engineering Sporter glasses. They are a little pricey but work very well and the lenses are large enough to give you a sense that your eyes are protected. I got mine in Brick at Eyesfirst Vision Center (no assoiation)
  17. Couple of years ago I had some surgery and couldn' leave the house for 3 weeks. First week caught up on some sleep (painkillers are great). Second week caught up on some reading. Third week Call of Duty 4.
  18. You are the person getting felt up and they would try to say its sexual harassment? Don't think so.
  19. Well, I went to dinner with my brother this evening. He had just come up from Florida. When they went to do the pat down on him, he just started moaning. TSA guy waved him by immediately.
  20. What a bunch of idiots. What is gun violence? A cop shoots a mugger trying to beat his victim with a baseball bat. This is gun violence, but I'm pretty sure that no ones sees a problem with the cop using his weapon. I would venture to guess most if not all NRA members are against the illegal use of a gun. And I'm pretty sure I've never seen a gun company ad that says "My product was used by a 3 year old to shoot his brother". Improper use of a gun can only hurt a companies sales. So why wouldn't someone working for the NRA and the gun industry try to stop the improper use of a gun?
  21. Video could be anything. All it shows is a armed robber came into a store an took the cash box and a second guy went outside and shot a gun. Was the second guy a security guard for the store who went outside to see where the crook went? Did the crook turn around and start firing at the security guard and he returned fire until the threat was stopped? Or the second guy could have been a schmo trying to be a "Hero" and just went outside and shot at the crook. Without the details the video means nothing.
  22. What he said Also Quick Quiz how many firearms safety rules violations did you count while this guy was demonstrating his product?
  23. Hey we can finally say that Obama got something right. Thank you Staff Sergeant Giunta.
