  1. Eh, I was going to say. Isn't it already illegal for these people to have firearms in the first place? Did you send this to the guys over at NJ2AS?
  2. Tinton Falls has never made me wait more than 2-3 weeks for a new permit. The FID took about 5 weeks.
  3. Most of the guys over at Brick Armory are nice and reasonably knowledgeable. They don't know everything about everything, but good enough. They just need a much better selection of firearms and ammo with more reasonable prices on the ammo. (gun prices when they have them are actually within the realm of reasonableness) They annoy me for other reasons . I think the range should be run tighter, but that's my opinion not everyone's.
  4. Not horrible, not great though either. They had a couple of Colt 1911's, one sold while I was there though. A few Beretta's, some glocks, a few others I don't care about. They never really carry anything I'd want to buy except the Colt's, and once in a while a springfield 1911. They had plenty of rifles in, a bunch of Colt M4's they'd gotten in as well. Not much in the way of ammo though, they were pretty cleared on on that stuff. I don't buy ammo there anyway, even member pricing is fairly steep. It really is a shame they don't carry more inventory like Shore Shot. If they did they could really give them a run. I ordered my p226 through BA back in 2009 which soured me on them back then. That's when I started going to SS, ah the circle of life. Anyway, got a decent price, but I got the royal run around on getting my sig. Eventually got it 2 months later. Won't be ordering from them EVER
  5. Lets see, neighbor complains... Cops arrive... illegal activity going on in the backyard... yep probable cause. Hard to miss roman candles. They could have made your life hell if they wanted to.
  6. I spent a bunch of time hanging out with the guys that work at the range (not intentionally, just worked out that way). While some things annoy me, at least the guys working behind the counter are nice. You can't ever talk to the guys at Shore Shot, busy or not. These guys took care of customers who were browsing and asking questions and still made time to chat with guys who were waiting for some other reason or just hanging out. It's always nice to not be treated like a parasite or someone who's only there to bug you. Don't worry, in a month or two I'm sure I'll be pissed off at something new and ranting
  7. Sweeney is one person, he isn't a wall of anything. He's also a politician, he'll go wherever the wind blows that'll get him re-elected.
  8. As someone who just had to do this, you have to send the two top copies in. They are supposed to be received within 5 days of the sale. It specifically states that it is the SELLER'S responsibility to do this. I'd imagine if that didn't happen, then the seller would be FUBAR if it came up.
  9. Dude needs a new gun, none of mine would go off from a drop like that.
  10. I had a sticker that said "Security by Magnum Research" . It was great
  11. A guy I work and shoot with had to go through the Ocean township process, it's not pretty. Took him around 4 months. GL
  12. Weirdness, works fine on my pc EXCEPT as link from these forums. It's Penn & Tellers BS on gun laws. Funny stuff. I'll try and find a different link. Changed the link to a new one.
  13. If you haven't seen this, it's worth watching. New link, video is about 30 minutes. http://www.liveleak....=ec7_1251312990 (adult language disclaimer)
  14. My grandfather took me hunting with him at 4, and I learned to shoot at 6. Of course there were guns all over the house so it was an import thing to learn about. If you really really want to teach them good though, after shooting triple check it to make sure it's empty and then teach him how to clean it. For some reason that always stuck with me and reminded me it wasn't a toy.
  15. If you are the owner of the shop, then I believe it's perfectly legal for you to wear it.
  16. Tinton Falls is supposed to get a large chunk of Fort Monmouth, wonder if I could convince them to let me open my own range . I'd give the cops a good discount ...
  17. BS, they've told me and others while I was at the range multiple times that rapid fire IS NOT ALLOWED. And I DON'T miss, it not like I'm bouncing them off walls.
  18. So I was BA today, and they have some 20 something kid running the range. He's in there with some other idiot who thinks its a WONDERFUL idea to fire an M4 as fast as they possibly can. Then, some other idiot at the other end thinks, hey if they can do it so can I, and HE starts blasting away as fast as he can pull the trigger. And the range idiot in charge seems to think this is wonderful. Now I've been yelled at more than once there for pulling the trigger once every 2 seconds, let alone as fast as I possibly could so I KNOW they aren't supposed to be allowing it. I don't think they had a single employee there tonight over 25 which is pretty stupid, especially since no one there thought to put a stop to it. I'll be calling them tomorrow to complain, and yes I did my complaining while there in person as well. I'm seriously considering asking for my membership fee back if they can't do it the right way. My cousin already caught a ricochet shot in back at a range for lack of competent range officers (At Bass Pro in Springfield, MO no less) I don't need to do the same. No wonder people were saying they thought the place unsafe. On the flip side they have a 2 toned Colt 1911, couple of Springfield 1911's in, a few Beretta's.
  19. Someone breaks into your home, they are threat. Done. See how easy that was. The transfer law was intended to prevent you from loaning out your guns to people that they then take OUTSIDE the home. Really has nothing to do with what a spouse does inside it.
  20. As was already pointed out, being charged is NOT the same as being convicted. If the charges where dropped you don't have anything to worry about. An arrest record isn't the same as a conviction.
  21. The real reason for the ban was "at the time" they were very cheap as the military had warehouses of them they were getting rid of, and the ammo was super cheap as well as the again "the military had a huge surplus". The military doesn't use the round the Carbine used anymore, so they literally had millions of rounds they were selling off super cheap. The pinheads in NJ thought the "criminals" were going to snatch these all up with the cheap ammo and start world war 3.
  22. Sell it out of state or move, that's about your only options.
  23. When I was in the Boy Scouts in Missouri, if you sold enough popcorn things you could get a .22 youth rifle (with parental consent), hatchet, pocket knife, etc. Now, not so much.
  24. They get away with it for a couple of reasons. One, they are permanently attached to the table, either by a bracket or chain. Next they will NOT function independently of the compressor used to power said bb guns. Therefore walking down the street with one isn't really going to do much for you.
