  1. Hell, I can't get out of Jersey fast enough as it is.....even a smallish lotto score would send our plans to vacate into hyperdrive!! Already have the ranch in the middle of nowhere.....just want enough to comfortably retire there.
  2. Spring G&A is one of the others I was trying to think of. One of my co-workers and I go there when I'm in town. He has a few cool NFA toys we play with there. Damn, I can't wait to move back to Tx!!
  3. Magnawing, I failed to mention the most important thing...where is the nearest range. Yeah, I know....how could I forget that?? I like Carters Country out on FM1960. Check out the extensive trophy room. Bill Carter is quite the hunter, and has taken game from all parts of the world. CC has an extensive firearms inventory, and on site gunsmiths. The range is well run, and the RSO's run a tight ship. There are other ranges in the area, but CC is the one my dad and I go to prior to deer season to check zero (dad lives nearby). Check it out, I think you'll like that place.
  4. That's the one! They make some awesome kolaches. My office is off of Research Forest and New Trails Dr.
  5. The Gooses Acre is a great Irish pub on Main St in the Woodlands. Check it out. Main St. is a very nice, upscale area with great restaurants. Pubs, entertainment, and nice shopping. You have probably never heard of a kolache, but stop into the Kolache Factory in th Woodlands and order some. Ham or sausage with cheese, rolled up into a slightly sweet bread and baked. They are delicious!!!!!
  6. The company I work for is based in the Woodlands. I'm there frequently. Lovely area with a lot to do. I'm sure your wife will love the shopping!
  7. Man, I haven't been to Cut and Shoot Tx in forever. Nice town! Glad you escaped NJ. Plan is to move back to Tx in 5 years.
  8. I hear ya, brother! I can't WAIT to move back!!
  9. MUST.....NOT......ENTER.......MILSPEC......DISCUSSION...............
  10. High temp BBQ grill paint works like a charm and its cheap.
  11. Shadow box definitely works well!! Many years ago, I had my .mil career awards put in a shadow box. It's at my dad's place in Tx. One of these days, I'll bring it back here, but for now, it resides in his office. My lovely wife just ran across my old Cub Scout uniform and had it made into a shadow box for me. Touched me deeply. I believe she went to AC Moore and had it done. It's lovely! You are doing a wonderful thing for him. Thank him for his service for me, please sir.
  12. I'm originally a Texas boy, so I don't get the milk, bread, and eggs thing either. What are y'all doing, making French toast? My wife, (a south Jersey girl), usually elbows me in the ribs when I ask that question, but she doesn't have an answer either!
  13. I have old Craftsman tools, from when they were made in USA (I'm an old bastard though). For the home mechanic doing occasional auto repair/maintenance, I don't think you need Snap-On, or Mac, anything like that. Husky will do nicely. Maybe you can find an old USA made set of Craftsman mechanics tools at a yard sale or on Craigslist.
  14. I use the 1/2 point convertible slings by Tactical Link, and the Z360 sling mounts. Not cheap, but excellent quality gear. I agree with H.E., almost no use for single point mode. I played with it for quite awhile but found that 2 point mode is the way to go.
  15. I use a Harmony. Not overly expensive, easy to program. There are several iPhone/Android apps for this as well.
  16. What don't you like about the fixed stock?
  17. I'll volunteer mine, but you have to go to Tx. Hell of a road trip.
  18. Thanks for the range report! Hmmmm, may have to wait on this one until they get the bugs worked out. Absolutely unacceptable to me is the recoil induced lockups. Reticle shift is also not good, however it sounds as if they may have that sorted. I'm going to give this one awhile, but please, keep us updated with your experience with this product. Thanks!!!
  19. I also have a battlecomp on my Colt 901 7.62. Very effective but $200. Keeps the muzzle on target extremely well.
