  1. If you want to do a true clone, use the KAC M5 rail. If you want free float, use the DD Omega rail.
  2. LOVE me some A4 clones. Crappy iPhone pic of mine:
  3. I'm old enough to remember when we as a society fixed things when they broke. We used to call a TV repair man when the TV went tango uniform. Now we throw it away, and buy a new one. I'm an engineer, and have a very curious mind. I work field service in a high tech industry. There isn't much I won't attempt to repair myself. I've done TV's, radios (I restore antique radios for a hobby), I do my all own auto repair and maintenance, appliances, HVAC systems, ect. Not much I won't try to fix, I figure it's already broken, how much more can I screw it up?
  4. Soldering is easy. I can show you how to replace the caps if that's what it is. Pics of my TV boards, also a Panasonic.
  5. Common failure on Samsung TV's. I've replaced the capacitors on the power supply board on several of these tv's. Easy fix, took longer for the soldering iron to heat up than it did to change the caps. About an $11 fix.
  6. I'm happy to help. A bit tied up util next weekend but glad to have a look.
  7. Kaiser, I have repaired several plasma/led/lcd tv's. I may be able to help, and I'm local to you in Stratford.
  8. I'm with H.E. Not sure why you would want to do this. If it were me, I'd get a good quality QD mount for the T1 (LaRue makes a great one), and go with a flip up BUIS. I have found that I refer a lower 1/3 co-witness, but whatever is most comfortable for you. My preference is for a Matech flip up. It is elevation adjustable to 600m. Relatively inexpensive, they can be had for $50 or under if you look around. KAC also makes an excellent, range adjustable flip up rear sight. It's more expensive than the Matech, though. Both of these flip ups are great choices and are very rugged.
  9. I think a collared shirt might be a better option. It was pretty warm out, so I just had a thin tee shirt on. Sling was chafing on my neck, and it only got worse when I started sweating. After 4-5 hours, my neck got pretty irritated. H.E., any particular 'combat' shirt that you recommend? I would be looking for something more geared towards warmer weather. Thanks!!
  10. I just spent a long weekend carrying my Colt 6940 all around the ranch in Tx. The biggest pain in the ass (neck)? The sling chafing my neck. I swapped between single and dual point carry configurations, but still wound up with chafing, no matter what I did. Think I'm going to add a pad to the sling to at least make it slightly more comfortable. Not sure that the caribiner would work, but willing to try the least expensive option first. Might order this puppy and give it a real world trial and see how it works out.
  11. Booker's Bourbon. Neat, as you should always consume good bourbon.
  12. I have the free iPhone version. At least it was free 2 years ago when I got it.
  13. Strelok has many popular scopes by brand listed as reticle choices. I'd say it's a good bet your scope/reticle/turret combination is an option. It's a great little program.
  14. Skip Empire. They use cheap carpet. We used a local mom and pop carpet store and wound up with top of the line carpet for much less than Empire quoted for crap.
  15. Personally, I dispise the pick and pluck foam that comes with the Pelican cases. Always looks like crap. I replace the pick and pluck with a closed cell foam. It makes for very nice, clean cut outs for firearms and accessories. I'll dig up my source for the foam, but I believe it's www.foamfactory.com I make myself a cardboard template of the item I want to inlet into the foam. This makes for a smoother cutout with a better fit. I hold the template to the closed cell foam with toothpicks, and cut around it using an Olfa knife. Remove the template and the cut foam. Presto, a perfectly fitted case for guns or gear.
  16. I have the EGW A2 comp on several of my AR's. Great comp!!
  17. Nice rig, Blueline. I love those 6601's!
  18. Why don't you shoot an ACOG first before making a decision. You're welcome to shoot one of mine at SJSC.
  19. Personally I would keep the Battlecomp on the rifle rather than spending $$ and time of something that isn't going to significantly improve anything. Just my $.02
  20. Ty, you just....suck! Seriously, awesome!!!
  21. I used to stop at their retail store on the way to the ranch (CDNN is in Abeline). Haven't been there in years. Used to be a great store with great prices. Going out to the ranch next month, I think I'll stop by and check them out again.
  22. I would be interested in building a little 9mm Glock carbine.....sounds like a fun project.
  23. You'll have to keep this in perspective and realize I grew up in Texas. My dad bought me my first .22 when I was 5, but I was shooting a bb gun prior to that. My .22 was a Savage single shot. I LOVED that little rifle. I took my first deer at age 7 with a Remington Mohawk 600 in .243.
