With all these threads happening and so much confusion about all this, even though it's being sorted out, FFL's are GOING to start charging more since everyone's being a pain in the ass! Steve tootin his own horn over here.. No complaints on my end...especially for 3+ items on one transfer :-) -

Hey @JMich3 , thanks again for letting me shoot the VP9LE! Definitely the most comfortable handgun I've shot in a while! Muzzle barely moved, I was surprised for a lightweight polymer framed handgun. So after doing some research on it since it will most likely be using a permit soon, I found a new model just released last month. The VP9B, which has a standard push-button mag release. The paddle, although takes some getting used to, didn't bother me much in yours but the fact that they released a button mag release may have me ordering a new one. [/url] -

Damnnnnn, what an awesome pic! Thanks for that! And what a fun night it was. Bunch of good people getting together to share laughs, conversation, and guns...hell yeah! Big thanks to Troy and anyone else involved in organizing it, RTSP ans CNJFO, you did a great job. It was nice seeing not only the usual faces but new ones as well! I may see if my local indoor range would be open to doing something like this maybe in December or January. I feel like these meet ups are never often enough! -

It's basically a custom built .223 Yugo AK that takes AR mag's. It takes a little getting used to shooting but it's more of a "fun gun". She definitely makes a big boom...especially indoors. Great meeting you, Jmich! -

Looks like it'll be myself and my buddy Chaz who's usually at shotgun shootouts. You know, the guy that looks straight out of a Montana fishing guide magazine. Still unsure of what will be brought between us but I'll add some good variety into the previously posted list. This should blind some RO's haha. -
90 gun capacity means it fits 48.5. 1700 bucks...that's a few nice guns or even several if you choose a good variety.

Didn't realize food will be provided. In that case it's a bargain baby. Anyone wanna reflect on the 15rd mag thing? Is it in effect now or not until December? May change inventory. -

Also, what are your opinions on 15rd mags right now? Only able to sell but not transport, use, or buy? Or are we good until December-something? I ask because I thought it was the former but I was at one of my FFL's a couple weeks ago who I normally trust and he was very firm in saying 15rders are still good until a date in December that he couldn't remember. Stupid effing laws. -

Damnit. I hate when you don't pre-register then get banged at the door for a higher walk-in price. If it was a public thing I could understand a little but we're all forum members here going to the same thing. -

I didn't realize we had to sign up on that website. I planned on coming with my wife and possibly friend. Am I chopped liver at this point or can we still get in? I'll have plenty of fun things to bring if that helps! -
Some good points but you lose it towards the end. 10 years ago when Romanian parts kits were $80, you could build an AK for $400 but considering part kit imports have substantially depleted due to numerous reasons, they are increasing in value every year. Plus most AK enthusiasts want imported AK's (hammer forged barrels, original receivers, etc). A good parts kit is $400 nowadays plus a barrel if not included, then labor on top of that...licensed builders have a hard time building and selling one under a grand. A diy builder on the other hand can produce one at a much lower price point considering labor is "free."
-
That is a joke of a rifle. Century just takes advantage of buyers who have no knowledge of AKM's.

Still no list as to what ppl are bringing? -
How much is a realistic amount to ask for?
RecessedFilter replied to TheCrazyTuna's topic in AR Discussion
Most people do not want to buy someone else's cobbled together parts build. I'd sell the complete upper and lower's separately as well as the eotech, magnifier, sights, and mags. After everything is said and done, you'll probably make back 60% of what you paid. If you were to sell the rifle complete with everything except the eotech and magnifier, I'd add it all up and subtract 30%. So if it adds up to 3 grand, price it at $2k and go from there. -
I'd think if the buyer sees the gun and backs out, it should be when they first meet at the FFL and before a NICS check is ran. If NICS is ran and the buyer pulls out after, I'm not sure what happens then but I'm confident the buyer will have to pay for any fees. The bigger issue I see with all of this and you touched a little on it is NICS is not an instant check like other states. So what happens if buyer and seller meet at an FFL at 3pm, NICS ran, and the FFL closes at 4pm with no update on the check? Does that mean both buyer and seller need to come back a separate day once NICS is passed? I mean how else would that work? Possibly the FFL could hold the gun I guess in which case only thr buyer would have to return to pick it up. Technically, NICS cannot be ran in advance by the way. It must be entered once paperwork is filled out at the FFL.

I don't see transfer costs changing. It's still time and paperwork to be filled out so I'm not sure why people expect it to be less. Who pays the fees will probably depend on each individual transaction and how both seller and buyer work it out. I think splitting it 50/50 is fair but I think a lot of people will expect the buyer to eat the costs. I think it'll also depend on how the item is priced and if it's a good deal. There's no doubt this law will be doing exactly what its intention is - decreasing ftf sales. Variables such as transfer fees, NICS checks and the slow system we have will cause tons of problems, as well as having to plan what FFL and where to meet up will all have a major effect on gun sales.
