  1. Hey Ron, Hope you get better soon and that your wife goes through a quick labor! Ryan
  2. I shot my first USPSA match in Old Bridge. The guys will always help and give you pointers. The point of your first match is to take it slow and not to get DQ'd from the match. Get at least 4 mag pouch. Since it's this coming Sunday, give Shore Shot a call if they have mag pouches. I usually carry 250 rds with me just in case and that's what I suggest you bring. Get there early because you have to go to a new shooter briefing so when you register, tell the guys you are a new shooter. Watch the videos that someone pinned to help you understand: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/18511-new-to-uspsa/ Ryan
  3. Thank you Caine for saving me time explaining! Ryan
  4. I'll let more experienced shooters do more comments but my little experience with IDPA, the difference is they are more concerned about procedures. In other words, they make sure you shoot behind cover, you shoot the first target you see in cover if not, it's a procedural. You can't drop mags with ammo in it, I believe, or that's a penalty. Go to youtube and search for IDPA. There is some videos there from Nick (Krdshrk) from NJGF members shooting. Search for Somerset IDPA. Ryan
  5. Ray's just talking out of his a**. I've shot both and just went to have fun even to this day, it's still about that. I used to like IDPA but now prefer USPSA. I don't care about scores. @Ray - what's up dude?
  6. For USPSA, Production division - CZ Phantom 9mm or Glock 35 .40 S&W Limited 10 - Glock 35 .40 S&W and EAA/Tanfoglio Elite Limited Custom in .40SW If you are looking for a versatile gun, a polymer in .40 as I was advised by experienced shooters will be the way to go (as Vlad stated). Guns such as M&P .40, Glock 35 .40 or Springfield XD or XDm in .40 will let you shoot in Production, Limited & limited 10. Ryan
  7. I don't know enough to comment on anything but a historian that I met in a social gathering once told me that all democratic countries will tend to lean towards socialism while communitst/socialist countries will turn to democratic type of government. Looking at it now, it seems he maybe right. I just felt that the greed of the few has hurt this country a lot more than I thought it did! I feel that the politicians are not listening to the American people!

    HELP!

I don't know how far you are from a Ramsey's outdoors but I remember buying Federal Small Pistol Primers from them 2 weeks ago. If there is one near you, give them a call. I think they sell for $3.99/hundred. Ryan
  9. They're streaming live as of 9:40 am today. Ryan
  10. Yeah, I did see that as well. Thanks. Apparently, they had wifi or bandwidth issues at the range and they were unable to stream. Hopefully it's fixed by tomorrow. Ryan
  11. The problem is Greece is 7 hrs ahead so if you work like me, it's hard to watch.
  12. It seems that they are providing live feed from the 2011 IPSC World Shoot in Rhodes, Greece. See link below: www.ustream.tv/channel/ipscworld Please visit http://www.ipsc.org/. Follow instructions to get notification when live feed has begun. Ryan
  13. Nick (krdshrk), this guy Bello use to shoot with you guys at the Bayonne range right? He must be bipolar or something! Ryan
  14. I remember the shop where I bought my snorkeling gear told me the same exact thing. I thought he was joking but it does work. Will try the wipes first and resort to the spit as a last resort!
  15. I did see that they offer anti fog wipes. Wouldn't this solve the fog issues with cheap eye protection? Ryan
  16. I tried static steel not so long ago as my first steel match and I believe the we had 3 stages. Not bad to practice on as it was a relaxed atmosphere. Are you trying to get ready for the big steel match in old bridge on Oct 1? I just sent my application in today. Ryan
  17. My opinion is contact Tony from TJ Sporting Arms. Website: tjsportingarms.com. My experience dealing with Tony is excellent plus got my gun slightly cheaper than online. Plus he's a nice guy. Give him a call and ask for a quote. That's my 2 cents. Ryan
  18. Last year, I went to the Pocono Pistol Club as I was in the same boat as you. It's just over the bridge and they had about 3 cabinets of rental gun to choose from if I remember correctly. I know I rented a a M&P 9 Pro series there, 1911's, Glocks (of course), S&W Revolvers, Ruger .22. I'm from North Jersey as well and it's only about 1 hr 15 min drive. They are a little on the expensive side but the staff is very professional. Here is their website: http://www.poconopistol.com/ If you have not been there before, you have to take a mandatory safety course and it's about $10. Ryan
  19. Forms are working properly now but looks like it doesn't matter anyway. If Irene doesn't turn by Friday, it's going to be windy and rainy Sunday. Please turn and so we go shoot!! Ryan
  20. Scared the crap out of me here in Hackensack! My first time feeling an Earthquake!
  21. I did select No in the question if you are an RO but the question for CRO/RO still comes up. I have tried different options as well but the only time these questions don't come up is if I choose I am not a USPSA member. Let me clear my browser data and try again. Ryan
