  1. Oh really? Might want to read article 3.
  2. I think it's a moot point considering their entire gun department has been turned into bicycle space.
  3. So? NJ doesn't require you to conceal, and no states have printing laws that I'm aware of. Big boys tend to print easier. Dick heads is not part of the mall per say, it's a stand alone store outside the mall.
  4. How can we have constitutional carry when Bruen explicitly allowed licensing schemes such as those is shall issue states? Bruen for better or worse only stipulated that a state must have a pathway for people carry who aren't otherwise prohibited.
  5. Take a closer look at the critical defense/duty, they have the scoring in the jacket and part of the lead core removed at the nose. I'm not saying they have, I'm saying they "may", based on its configuration. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/95/78/1b/95781b2c9668bd9c26792fb0583f6b39.jpg NJSP don't offer official "legal advice", either. While they say HCD is not hollow point, they don't say it's NOT a dum dum.
  6. Dum dums by definition are bullets that expand. I dont see frangible bullets meeting that criteria. NJ doesn't differentiate between who made the cartridge, so manufactured or reloaded shouldn't have a legal impact with this regard. I would stick with ball ammo, any bullet like Hornady Critical Defense, while not hollow point could be considered a dum dum.
  7. I never get an email from my PD, just the "NJ Firearms System" approval email. My last set of permits had the official approval email in 6 business days from date of application submission. I did get the email at like 6am, so it may just be an automated system email.. check tomorrow morning
  8. I beleive the permits are not issued to you, at all. They are in the system ready for use, only accessible by an FFL.
  9. Well, the scotus opinion left "good moral character" and "mental health checks" in place as constitutional. So I don't see our permitting system going anywhere anytime soon. I could see them forcing the background check be dropped since all sales go through an FFL where the background check is completed. It's an extra redundant cost that serves no purpose. With respect to carry permits, the only thing I see in questionf from Bruen is how much they state can require you to be trained or qualified.
  10. It's could easily read that one permit is issued for the handguns you own and intend to carry, and only carried by you.. Then Paired with the qualification/ training statutes AND that each handgun needs to be qualified with by the owner. Nothing here stands out to me that any handgun you own is automatically covered by the permit. In essence the statute states you are only issued a single carry permit for multiple handguns you own..
  11. Why do you need a letter from a doctor?
  12. Who's to say that will change "in time". I had an issue with FARS emailing one of my references. The detective called my reference spoke with him for a minute and resent the email request. Nothing will prevent them from double checking a reference. My permits were also issued in 6 days, so it wasn't about "anti-gun" police.. just a little due dillegence.
  13. I feel ya, for someone who reloads its a kick in the pants to buy inflated priced ammo. Right before the pandemic I bought a 1k case of federal HST for 400 bucks. I'm not comfortable carrying hollow point tho so it's only a home defense round. I plan on qualifying with my known handloads that have proven accuracy. Bulk plinking ammo isn't really that great out to 25 yards in a small ccw firearm.
  14. It's not up the the NJSP to remove any part of the permitting process. They could process permits without the shooting qual, but that would only be for people going through the NJSP. It's been reported already that judges are requiring you to qualify with the handgun you want to carry, so I see some conflicts here. There are a few ways to meet the statute, and one of them does not require a shooting qualification. Liability would be gross negligence, and following the states process as per statute, it would be difficult to show liability. The state would be as liable for approving the permit if they felt the criteria was insufficient.
  15. Seems like a bit much when I'm going for a 30 minute qualifier and 50 rounds per gun.
  16. Most restaurants who serve and bars are small businesses, too. It seems odd to have 2 sets of rules for them. Micro breweries got away with paying severely reduced fees by simply selling only what they make, that would be otherwise available for purchase "to go". It seems they want to be "bars", with out the red tape.
  17. Makes sense, they kinda operate under a different set of rules than everyone else. If they want to be a restaurant or bar they should probably be designated as such. Brewing or distilling their product shouldn't change that. The ones I've been to, sell their beer only. We order food and have it delivered.
  18. 15 police reports? Ain't no doctor gonna fix that.
  19. How does someone plan on using it when the important stuff is entirely redacted? That was the carry card for the security gaurd that was arrested.
  20. Its the executive guide for following the legislated statute. Apparently the executive branch of our government isn't smart enough to just use the statute, they have to have someone explain it to them, or in many cases they just make shit up to fit their own personal agenda. It's no different then when the ATF makes up rules. In any case, administrative codes is not law and can't be used in court as an argument as breaking the law, not unless a statute specifically dictates that an agency will be responsible for enacting a policy or procedure. Administrative rules are guides for those enforcing the statute.
  21. GFH just sent out an email, they were in court for some permits being authorized. You MUST qualify with the handgun you wish to carry. You can ammend your permit at a later date through the courts to add additional handguns.
  22. To assert a dominance they otherwise don't have. The NJSP firearms unit also wrote those letters for "others", just like the ATF seems to think they are the end all be all of "law". We see how quickly those decisions flip flop, so really... what is their "guidance" worth? especially if it a)changes or b) is incorrect. The NJSP will simply say they never provided advice to the general public. IIRC, that guidance book, was super secretive that was not allowed to be seen by us peons.
