  1. I don't think they consider you to be an actual resident, and this happened just recently. They want your money, this was put in place to bypass the residency/non-residency issue so they dont have to deal with it, they just say give me your money. I know of a couple people who sold there houses in up-state already.
  2. In order to be a resident of both states you would have to meet the criteria of both states to be a resident. And im pretty sure most states have a certain limit on the days required in state which is more then half the year. In this particular case you cannot be a resident of both states, unless of course he managed to be in nj for more then half the year, which is not the case. And not to make a stink about it that statute doesn't say anything about being an actual state resident, it just talks about residing in a state for part of the year, not necessarily being a state resident, and what constitues the time you have to be there to buy a hand gun. I can reside in a state for 1 day, thats part of the year, and buy a hand gun and bring it back to NJ. There is just way to much wiggle room in that statute and it seems like its worded to get people in trouble.
  3. I understand what the federal documents say, however, the states have there own means of determining who is a resident and who is not. In nj they require you to be in the state for 186 days, thats pretty cut and paste here. If your not in state for 186 days then you should not be claiming residency. Thats NJ law and it has nothing to do with what the federal government claims. I'm sure for college students and younger people they dont really care and wont make a stink about it since your not paying a significant ammount of state income tax.
  4. The problem is... did walmart or does walmart tell there security to prevent the shoplifter from leaving the store, but not assert force? If the shoplifter goes quietly with security, just to brandish a weapon in the "interrogation room" and threaten there lives by pointing a gun directly at person point blank (hostage situation), is it not walmart who put them directly in the position to violate company policy? (in this instance). My problem with this is.. i can understand company policy to let a shoplifter walk out the door to catch him later. I cannot understand how a company tells it's employees to engage with a shoplifter, and then told they cannot do anything. The fact that the security guards had some sort of protocol to follow which led them to this back room is what put them in the position to begin with, how can walmart fire them for violating a protocol in which walmart forced them to violate. It's walmart who put them in this position, they should fire themselves. If walmart wants employees to avoid confrontation with dangerous situations they should not put them into dangerous situations to begin with. If i could sue them for putting my life in danger i would, and then maybe they would let shoplifters walk out. Who's to say this guy wouldnt just blow them away when they approached him. Thank god he didnt. But let's face it, this wasnt a hold up robbery where an employee is forced into the situation by the criminal. There policy basically says corner the criminal until he pulls out a gun and comes out shooting. Personally, i hope walmart burns in hell for many other reason then this. I can't think of one company who wouldnt award these Employees for doing the right thing, even when policy told them not to. Shows good morals and values, something many companies look for in there employees.
  5. You need to live 183 or more days out of the year in NJ to be considered a NJ resident. You cannot claim residency in two states.
  6. You need to be very careful with this type of situation. My dad moved down to Florida last year and he has to spend a number of days outside of NJ in order to claim non-residency. In this case he was trying to avoid paying NJ tax, and if they think you are close to the limit, they will investigate and will say your a resident if it is close enough to the days required in state, and you will have to prove what days you were and were not in state. They are money grubbers and will try and make you a resident. And in this case you are not an AZ resident, cant be 2 at once. Be very careful and read into this a lot more. you can get into a lot of trouble with this. His boss was in the same situation, he works in NJ and has a appt. here, but lives in Ct. He was close to 3 days being non-Nj resident, but apparently his daughter lives at there appt, and they had a list of phone calls made from the appt when he said he was in CT. they nabbed him and made him pay for NJ tax, for that year he was a NJ resident. what a scam! You need to be very careful like i said, just because you claim residency in one state, doesnt necessarily mean the state will agree. NJ will fight for your residency because they want your money. I'm not entirely sure how the tax system works with liveing and working in 2 different states, but i think you pay the state in which you work, and if there is difference you pay that to the state you live in. You def. dont pay full tax for both states tho.
  7. Someone said a couple weeks ago that the 92fs rental was broken, they may have fixed it just enough for it to shoot. I stand by my 92fs m9a1, very solid pistol, and the trigger is very crisp with SA, the DA can be a little long and heavy on the first shot, but still crisp on the break. I wondered about the exposed trigger bar too, but from the feel of mine it is very solid, and i barely notice it. I'm not sure what they did with it to make you think of it in such a poor way, people may have misused it all this time and they are willing to fix it but not replace it. Damn shame if i may say so.
  8. weak sauce! and they basically want full retail for a used one.. i guess you gotta suck it up if you really want it.
  9. Shane, how much did you pay for just the FN TPS? I've been looking around but i cant find a place that has it in stock with pricing. I'm looking to get a nice shottie and damn that thing looks sweet.
  10. Dude i waited almost a month for my RRA to be built. Some of these place only have lowers ready to ship, the rest they need to build by order. However, they do explicitly state on there web site the wait time for an order depending on what you ordered. Dunno about del-ton tho, some places you can order a complete upper wait a month, same place- order a complete rifle and you get it in a week.
  11. I know that some red dots and the eotechs reticule size changes, further forward the larger it becomes. Personal preference really. Eye relief may play a role if its not unlimited. Personally i like my eotech mounted forward, however, if i were shooting past 100 yards i would pull it back, reduce reticule size and improve accuracy. Some people say the quality of your eye sight will be the biggest factor. Parallax free means nothing unless you buying an aimpoint or eotech, or something of similar quality. I know the Eotechs use a curved lense to create PF and aimpoints use a different method, but neither are completely true Parallax free. I would say that the further forward its mounted the harder it is to get the reticule into a space where Parallax becomes an issue, as it's easier to create more angle the closer you are to the sight. Some people can actually see where parallax occurs in a scope using Polarized glasses, the Dot will disappear when the angle is off.
  12. Oh i know they do what ever they want most of the time, in general it seems to be more of a municipality issue then a single officer doing what ever he wants or feels is right. And i don't know why so many people sit back and let it happen. I seem to be one of the very.. very few and lucky ones who has a very good PD, the dont harass you when applying, and they do it by the book, and there very nice and helpful, talk to you eye to eye. If i lived in Cherry Hill you can bet i would be raising all hell. If you have any relatives who are lawyers i would have them write a formal letter to the PD which states the next letter will be a subpoena to appear in court if they continue to blatantly disregard the law. My main concern would be..what is next. If they are allowed to break the law and get away with it, you are only empowering them more to do it in other areas of the law. I have a problem with people including law enforcement, who initially think of you as some criminal or bad person, and it is up to you to prove otherwise. This mindset there under is that the treat everyone as some guntoting criminal and you have to prove to them you aren't. Obviously people just don't care, becuase if someone really did, the whole state would be on top of this and the NJSP wouldn't be continuing to support municipalities who break the law. One big lawsuit would create a chain effect, we see it happen all the time in the education system. One school get's sued, and most if not all will change policy so it doesnt happen again, money is very tight right now and i don't see why they would open themselves up to lawsuits, obviously it's not a issue to them right now so they do it anyway.

  14. consultation means exactly that, however he was treated, so he is considered an outpatient. I've told this story before on here as we get this question alot. I forgot when i was applying that a couple years ago i saw a psychologist for about a month in regards to some mild depression. Fast forward 4 years and i totally forgot about it when applying, and answered NO. nothing ever came up and i got my permits. If i were to do it again, i would put yes. I could have honestly argued to the best of my knowledge that i forgot about it, not really anymore. It's easier to appeal when your honest and denied, much harder to fight it when your caught in a lie. With private practices it's basically impossible for them to find out either way unless you tell them. Now what i would do it talk with the officer doing your paperwork, explain the situation. Ultimately they will probably decide based on your psychologist remarks about you, so maybe talk with him/her about it first and decide if owning a firearm is an OK idea for you. I'm sure they will respond better to the PD when they start asking about you and they know whats going on.
  15. Municipalities cannot disregard the law no matter how you put it. A law is a law, and no policy or regualtion with in a municipality can change that. They can add additional regulations and policy, but they cannot contradict state law. This isnt federal vs state law, where we have to follow both, but both can be contradicting. The fact it says "there shall be no conditions... other then those specifically set fourth in this chapter" Unless it says notarized forms in the chapter clause i don't see how they can argue it, no matter what there excuse is you should tell them there breaking the law, one which they swore to uphold. I'm shocked beyond belief that the State Police said they were allowed to that, if i was on the phone i would ask them how they came to that conclusion, and why state law specifically contradicts there statement.
  16. That is probably something some one who has done it will have to answer. I'm sure there glad to get them at any point in time. The issue is if they start hitting people with fines and other crap, if people are a day late they may not send them at all. So it may be easier for them to just let it go if it's late to keep people from not sending them at all. They might get pissed if u wait a year tho.
  17. If you have the proper documentation on your end, the pistol is yours...It's just not registered in your name(which is not required by law) Fortunately it's not the buyers problem, and the seller should have all the incentive in the world to send the documents to the right people and on time. When buying anything FTF have a receipt and get it signed by the seller. This will prove actual ownership, the P2P should act as a receipt.
  18. I'm not a big fan of steve, but this was pretty funny.
  19. St. J's may be in Paterson, but it is actually a pretty decent hospital. However, it is no where near the level of Hackensack. I'm actually wondering why they sent him that far. Hackensack or Valley are much closer, they must have wanted him to bleed to death.
  20. Ahhh i almost bought that exact pistol! I ordered an exclusive mark III instead. I don't know why they had it priced so good, but when i asked about ordering the one i wanted, they gave me an absurd price. When i was there 2 weeks ago with a friend looking at 9mm's they only had the buckmark left, and i am assuming its gone now, unless they updated there inventory, the ruger 22/45 was priced really good to, but that was sold when i went back. I would call first if you plan on stopping in, they usually only have 1 of each in stock and order as they sell them. Just for clarity this is the ramsey store, the paramus one isnt as good.
  21. Does anyone have pricing on a 25yard unit? I've been searching for any kind of pricing but can't find a damn thing.
  22. http://www.northjersey.com/news/crime_courts/020711_Paramus_police_officer_shot_after_pursuit.html Much better article from NNJ.com
  23. It really depends on what your looking for, optics planet has a ton of gear you can look through. Believe it or not but amazon also has a good deal of stuff, but you need to know what you want. As far as the barrel cover(fake silencer) thats probably the only thing you would need some one to tell you where to find. Any other accessory you can find on an AR/rifle supply site.
  24. I wouldn't call this particular rifle expensive. If anything it's relatively cheap compared to the other ones out there, if you take functionality and reliability and looks into consideration.
