There was a rumor that we were going to get a ruling last Friday. Now all the cases from November except the one we're waiting for have been ruled on. Another rumor is that Judge Thomas is writing the decision. All bets are on the end of June for the ruling. The history has been that controversial rulings always come right before the summer break. That would be late June. I hope it does come earlier

Carrying a weapon off duty and stoned. What could go wrong? LOL. Leave it to NJ to make stoned cops exempt and yet we still can't get a permit to carry but stoned cops are okay. My God I'm glad I'm out of this state for good soon.

I always knew from the time I was 18 NJ firearm laws are bad. It wasn't until I bought a house in a free state and visited a local gun range and than a Gun show that I realized how bad they really are. After this ruling I believe NJ is going to change for the better, but we still won't be as free as other states. I'm leaving for good in 3 more years. Just in time for things to get better here. Outside of the boardwalks I don't think I'm going to miss NJ.

This should have been settled long ago.

I bought back in February in Ft. Myers I was out in 15 minutes. That made me hate NJ even more.

I'm sure the last thing any of us want is to get jammed up with a firearms violation in NJ. Not getting a building permit or a jab is not the same. If you get caught without a permit working on your home you don't lose you right in every other state to ever get a permit again. IMO there's nothing wrong with going to an expert before moving forward especially with something you can forever lose your right to exercise. I know one thing for sure. NJ would like nothing better than to make us all criminals.

To be on the safe side I would use an FFL for anything having to do with firearms in NJ. My daughter just got hired down here in Florida. She's making the move down next week. I'm so happy she's getting out of the People's Republic of NJ. My wife and I still have 5 more years until we can move down year round. Yesterday I walked into a gun shop down here just to look around and saw a brand new Glock P80 in the case. 20 minutes later I walked out with it. It was so easy. Nothing like the B/S back home.

Now that Virginia has a new governor they wrote to the supreme court stating that NY's current permit law is unconstitutional. At first they were supporting the state of NY in there fight. He goes in to detail about the case.

I brought in a barrel without a problem, but there is a no gun policy. If your bringing in a long gun it has to be unloaded, bolt out and a zip tie on it. I have an old AP-74 Jagger I bought when I was 18 up in Wayne NJ. The plastic flash hider was broken years ago. I brought the barrel in and found one for it at the 2nd table I stooped at. I got 4 offers for the barrel in 10 min's from people just walking up to me. I brought the barrel back to my car and went back to the show. There was also I guy selling night sights at a table. If you brought your slide in he put them in while you waited. They had ammo there. Prices weren't too bad. about 4 or 5 tables selling. Its nice to go and see a gun show after living in NJ.

I drove 99% of my stuff out of the state 3 years ago. I didn't make any stop's I drove straight down. I didn't want to have to clean out the truck in some motel in Georgia than pack it back up. Freedom in Florida is a GREAT feeling. Saturday I'm going to the Ft, Myers gun show.

I think it went well today for us. The case isn't about where we can carry its more about a shall issue. What NY is requiring is a need statue. Just like NJ.

I've never been to that range. I've Only been down there for two winters. Cape Coral is divided up in 4 zones. I'm up in the NW Cape. We bought the lot back in 2010. Last I looked there were 167,000 people living in the Cape but you would never know it because of how large the city is. Where I'm at up in the NW there are so many empty waterfront lots just waiting to be sold and built on. I wish I was going down there too.

North Port is about 50 mi north of where I'm at in Cape Coral. Its a quiet area. Not like Miami. Your going to find it so different going there than your local police dept in NJ. if you have time stop in some local gun stores. Even with low stock you'll still be surprised. Oh no. you missed a great opportunity to get down to Florida for a day or two and meet some very nice people. You'd be shocked how different gun owners are treated in Florida VS NJ. I try to take advantage of EVERY reason to get down to Florida or just out of NJ for that fact. LOL

No Problem. It really is a good idea to go in person. They do everything right there. Picture, electronic prints, and application. They send it right out. Its like one stop shopping. Florida is so different from NJ. The state workers are very helpful and nice. My last renewal the women asked me way I wasn't a Florida resident yet. The're very happy to see their state grow.

I think it was about two weeks before I took the class At Shoot Streight in Ft. Myers. I started calling around for an appointment. They've always been by appointment Check the surrounding area. I'm in Lee county. I have two offices close by. The first time I applied we didn't have the house yet.The only appointment that worked for me was in the Miami office. It was a bit of a drive but worth it.

I find the best way to apply and renew is to make an appointment at a Licensing center. They can do everything there while you wait. Fingerprints, and application. I have a bad scar and they usually have to do my electronic prints twice. The machine tells them right than and there if its a good print or not. Before I got a winter home in Florida I took the class here and than made the appointment at the Licensing center. I got my License in the mail 3 weeks later. When I renewed I went back to the Licensing center and the women told me to become a Florida resident and she would than be able to give me my renewal right there on the spot. I've never waited more than 3 weeks for my renewal to come in the mail. I have 5 years left on my current CWFL. My next renewal I will be a Florida resident. As others have said just be careful. I only have .45 ACP Ball left up in NJ. When the state went to 10 rounds I moved everything else out. Its funny a few years ago I was going to sell my Glock 30 and my Springfield XDM .45. Glad I didn't.
