  1. Cheapest?................. not really. I've been seeing some P250's for $350.00 shipped recently. Granted they are the red headed step child of the line but they still say Sig Sauer on the slide.
  2. Your GF is Vietnamese and haven't taken you to Washington Avenue? Vietnam was occupied by the French for over a hundred years and have a tradition of producing excellent bread and pastries. I would urge you to take the drive and if you need some hints for the best Pho or pork stuffed grape leaves, soy and lemongrass pork knuckles and Banh Mi's just PM me and I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction.
  3. Pho,Banh Mi's,Banh Cuon,Bo Luc Lac,ect was 2 years ago when I discovered all the Vietnamese restaurants, bakeries and groceries on Washington Avenue in Philly.... now I even make my own blood cake.
  4. Like you my interest have waned somewhat but I believe it's a natural cycle,at least in my case. I latch on to a hobby or past time and become almost obsessive, invest time ,money and emotion in it and then something else comes along and the cycle starts all over again. In my younger days it was diving, spearfishing, trials riding, surfing, autocross, salsa, women, booze, cigars, but the one constant will always be ...cooking, and right now I'm so taken with middle eastern,Indian and Malaysian food that Kalustyan's sees me every week for one spice or the other. I'll always be a firearms enthusiast but perhaps not as rabid as I was when I used my first 3 P2P's.
  5. Since half of my guns are now revolvers I've found my ammo consumption per visit have decreased but 250 to 300 rounds a visit was not uncommon.
  6. No real surprises that I can think of but in my case NICS do take some time to come back with an approval...Ira,my FFL, thinks that perhaps there is someone with a similar name with issues that might cause a delay but the approval usually come up after a couple hours. The one thing that inevitably occurs is the itch to get all the accessories and upgrades for the firearm IMMEDIATELY which is not always wise or financially feasible. Congrats on the purchase, while sometimes unjustly maligned a Glock is an excellent first pistol.
  7. That will remain an issue...... but I recall days where the bumper to bumper traffic started 2 miles before the Tolls going into exit 16.
  8. Actually since they widened the toll plaza, added a speed pass and dedicated 4 lanes just to the Woodbury commons exit, the traffic is not much to speak of....even during the absolutely insane boxing day sales. We pass through that exit 3 to 4 times a year on the way to Montreal usually on weekends and have yet to see the nightmarish traffic backups of years past. Can't help but think it was in anticipation of a big draw store like Cabela's and perhaps who ever is yet to come. Now I'll be making more frequent stops in the future basically for ammo....what are the laws in NYS on ammo purchases these days?
  9. I agree but why would .45 overtake .40 in the future? I was under the impression that because of cost and the advances in 9mm ammo technology .45 is increasingly regulated to a enthusiast round. No?
  10. I attempt to replace what I shoot so my "reasonable deviation" regularly takes me to a Dick''s on the way to the range or on the way back on occasion, The convenient Dunkin Donuts and Deli is just some of my other "Reasonable Deviations". Look Gentlemen...In our wonderful state just about anything is indeed possible when transporting firearms although some of the hypothetical scenarios border on the absolute ridiculous and paranoid or just bored ramblings to boost post count.Transport as you see fit, ammo and firearms in separate vehicles with finger on Nappen's number on speed dial with your flashers on if it makes you happy........I much prefer to live not cower....takes too much energy.
  11. One last thing...research your route beforehand simply because some friends from Virginia is in town and said the traffic, detours and construction is the worst they've seen in quite a while and that's saying a lot from Virginia residents. Give yourself lots of time and maybe download WAZE on a smartphone to keep you abreast of traffic, accidents, cops ect. Enjoy your trip.
  12. None...I fly out of Newark,Twice with my guns on Continental and was quite surprised how professional and quick they were, just keep within the weight allowance for ammo if flying with your rounds..
  13. The cree lights are an excellent value and I've ordered about 2 dozen now for not only myself but all my friends. On a side note....am I the only one who wondered how Lucky Gunner stays in business with their astronomical shipping costs?
  14. If you haven't had the opportunity to see the recent short video on NJ.Con called "The gun lobby is right this time"? give it a glance...some good points made, some bad, ground gained and then lost towards the end of the video. I apologize for not linking the video but I'm seemingly blocked from linking anything on NJGF.
  15. Just the fact that the bugs come in from Louisiana is encouraging...perhaps its worth a trip. I usually set a spread in summer in the Swedish tradition with bugs boiled in beer and dill, cheese pie, lots of schnaps and beer.
  16. I love hot dogs but only with natural casings which seems to be getting rarer and expensive....on it,Frenches mustard and either cooked or raw onions and if at home, hot pepper sauce. Ketchup is for burgers and eggs.
  17. Supposedly a small fire on one of the lanes but open for business tomorrow morning.
  18. My question ...Will it be worth it? I can pinch and suck heads with the best of them but past experiences have been less that authentic....usually under seasoned, mudbugs imported from China and children's portions at more than adult prices.
  19. I'll take your word for it........
  20. I pay as I go at SS now and only shoot on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon when there is typically no wait. in the now 4 years I've been shooting there I have only witnessed 2 incidents of "improper and/or potentially hazardous" firearm handling. Both of those incidents were perpetrated by ...me. Yes, they were early in my new found hobby and I've since mended my ways with several classes and much appreciated tips from veteran shooters. Maybe I just have excellent timing but I've shot with LEO's both rookie and short, grandmas and grandpas, armed forces veterans, housewives, dads with their kids and even newbys under RO supervision.... funny, I've yet to encounter any "Gangbangers" or "Greenhorns".......is there a league?
  21. Precisely..... With 2 or more of recent mass shooters reportedly on some form of mind or mood altering prescribed drugs perhaps a more focused approach and questions are in order... #26 while too broad exists as a CYA for CLEO's who have neither the time or inclination to delve deeper in order to make a honest and even decision.
  22. Having lived on both sides of the Driscoll Bridge I have to say that is a very fair estimate.....however the boundary is rapidly moving southward with more population shift from North Jersey and NYC.
