  1. That would be him....he tried to strike up a conversation about my old Smith but I gently persuaded him he was cutting to my range time, went over to some kids and regaled them with his war stories and has left me alone since.
  2. I shoot there and had/have my issues with their customer service but since come to terms that I have enough friends and just as long as they are efficient in completing my purchases, and getting me a lane I'm happy. As for the RO's...many are now new and don't know me but I found if you diligently practice the basics of gun and range safety and follow range rules they leave you alone. Since the unfortunate incident last year, SS have upped the amount of oversight on the lanes however and some may take exception....I, on the other hand appreciate it.
  3. I've done the very same on two occasions and as long as you transport them in accordance to FOPA guidelines you should have no issues. As is customary I must stress that IANAL however.
  4. Never mind....you got a lot going on but still, that's quite a nut.
  5. $750.00? Good god! what are you running ?.....I have a set plan with a energy supplier and pay .11 cents/kh and we have seen a higher bill this winter but everything including heating is electrical and I came in at $245.00 last month. Granted I have a very humble 1200 square feet on one floor but $750.00 seems a bit much.
  6. Exactly... With gun manufacturers working double shifts and investing in additional machinery and expansions, firearm imports at a all time high and back orders now being caught up, you can't tell me all these firearms are being snapped up by existing owners.
  7. I tend to overpack but in addition to all of the above I also carry in my range bag.... Precision oiler with a needle tip for those thirsty rails. Saline eye wash kit. Energy bars and water. GOJO fast wipes. to take care of powder and lead residue. Small field glasses, the eyes aren't what they used to be. Small flash light. Red and black sharpies. Painters tape.
  8. Damn that's ballsy...even for me and I transport with loaded mags {whole different thread} but by carrying only unloaded long guns would largely defeat the OP's purpose of wanting it primarily for protection during the drive.
  9. I tend to be a bit more cavalier in regards to NJ laws than Nickjc but some questions I have are. Do you still own the residence where you old FID's is addressed to? Is your family living at that residence? Are you staying with them when you visit? Are your firearms, ammo and mags NJ compliant? as you can see there are a bit of questions that have to be answered before even a semi credible answer can be offered.... but I would err on the side of safety and go along with Nickjc on this one.
  10. Perhaps..... but after only 35 posts I don't believe he's earned that right quite yet...
  11. I would ask you to qualify that statement with some personal experience either with a prolonged exposure to or ownership of Taurus Firearms. Otherwise we would have little choice but to dismiss your rather inarticulate opinion as just another drive by of someone who is parroting what they've read somewhere..... In either case your post displays little in facts and even less in imagination.
  12. ...so the measurable difference between the target sights on my Smith and the combat sights on my Glock. Makes perfect sense.
  13. ...just a matter of time in my opinion but hopefully I'll be either deceased or retired to a tropical island...
  14. .labor is cheap, their ex military body guards would undoubtedly carry......
  15. I'm far more accurate with my Smith model 27 in single action than my CZ,Glock or Colt semi automatics... so IMHO....yes.
  16. ...a quick bullet to the back of the head and a sudden availability of tranplantible organs for China's elite and politically connected?
  17. Thank you Sir..... It's encouraging to know that management listens and acts.
  18. Thank you... I believe the new handle to be not only fitting but will attract more contributors and dialog, now can I humbly request a equally fitting password be considered?
  19. I venture when they report "knives" the actual culprit is a" cleaver".A very popular weapon in the Tong wars both in HK,China,San Francisco and even NYC's China town. The heavy and sharp carbon steel blade is still the weapon of choice in these types of attacks in Asia and can be lethal in the right hands.
  20. So did I, Saw them for $14.99 each and said what the hell but mine rattle with 15 rounds loaded they are essentially 14 rounders, never had an issue with performance however.
  21. Dr Martins and a semi custom innersole should do the trick. Depending on your dress requirements I would recommend the greasy 3 eyed Gibson in black {been wearing this style for 30 years} or the classic 8 eye also in black greasy for a mid height boot. Soft, comfortable, classic, durable, waterproof with a oil and acid resistant sole.
  22. "Freedom Ring" Has a nice ring to it. I have no real problem with the concept and judging from the hits, it's a real success. I'm old school and what I find rather offensive is the condescension that comes with the name and description of the "Litter Box". the kiddy table, if you will or some place to keep the rabble of the forum. I am neither.
