  1. Proud to say I got out in Aug. Now I'm in AZ and loving life. I don't say that to gloat. I am doing the same work for less pay and yet I've never been happier. Freedom is a great thing. For those thinking about it I can only say that it is in fact even better then I thought. Good luck and happy New Year.

    Glock 42

Okay I'll bite. I don't owe a Glock 42 because it is not a 9mm and for its size it should be. Also I had a Glock rep tell me last year they were planning on a 9mm version within a year. As for the 1911, of course I carry mine in condition 1. My bed side is also in condition 1. Cheers!

    Glock 42

Agreed. I would wait two weeks, till after SHOT Show. I have a feeling that Glock will then have a 9mm in a very similar size to the Glock 42.
  4. I too use to boarder EHT and then moved for better gun laws. If you are willing to move (a good idea in my opinion) I would go at least to PA. I can't tell you how happy it was to pay the crazy fee to take my moving truck across the Delaware River. I was so happy I kept going until I reached AZ. Life has been good ever since. Freedom is so addictive.
  5. Free at last! Currently in free America, armed and happy. Completed my move over the weekend.
  6. PK90 wrote "The Haboobs (dust storms) seem to come from the South and head up the East Valley. " This is true but I have to correct the spelling. It's Haboobies! No kidding about turning your lights OFF. People will try to follow your parked car and hit you. Crazy, but it happens out there with the low visibility.
  7. Congrats. I am making the move to AZ in a week. I can't wait to get free. I'm sure you feel the same. As a single man, I would look to Tempe (ASU area) and Scottsdale for the ladies (think about drive times). Unlike most cities downtown Phoenix is not very populor for nightlife. Good luck and enjoy!
  8. Thank you for the correction. That's what I get for trying to answer with out re-reading the statues. It is sad that it is so convoluted here, but I'm glad it is slightly better then I originally posted.
  9. Mikka1 has great points. Don't ask the NJSP and expect to be able to go by their answer. Also, I believe if you are going to a NJ range then you need to be a member of said range and the range needs to have your name on their list for the NJSP to review. The other option is to go to an FFL which might just be located at the range you are visiting. Too little time to get the reference. Good luck.
  10. This maybe I bit short notice, but if you want to start right and possibly avoid wasted money and poor habits, you could join me in two weeks at a 'local' carbine class. I'm taking my second carbine class with Joe. I was happy with the first one and this is the closest/cheapest place around. The carbine 1 class is Saturday 19 July in PA near Cabbala's. http://www.sightsandtrigger.com/#2838
  11. Your welcome. Get some rounds down range and you will soon know what you like best. Shooting others' rifle when you can is also helpful. I learned a ton by going to training classes as well.
  12. I have run a short vertical foregrip, but it is more of a reference point for my foreword hand to index on rather than a place to hold. On this rifle you would need a different hand guard or rail to mount one. This could greatly increase cost. The least expensive option is again from Magpul by way if their replacement hand guard.
  13. First, I would say sights are a must have. I prefer the Magpul Pro sights. These are metal and should work well given the front rail on your rifle is also the gas block making it a bit hot for polymer sights. Second, I would add a sling. I prefer two point, but to each his own. Third, I too like the aimpoint sights. I have a T1 that I love and a PRO that is much more cost effective. Last, I would add a light if you think you may use the rifle in less then ideal lighting. I currently use an inforce WML. Hope this helps.
  14. I guess it's time to sell my 15 rd AR mags. Not to rub it in, but I'm moving to AZ in a couple months.
  15. If one lives in a free state and owns an AR pistol and an AR rifle that is not considered constructive intent.,,,,,right? If this is true then how can just having a lower on another completed rifle be a problem? FWIW, PK90, I'm on my way to joining you in the free lands of AZ. I'm counting down the days.

    590 v. 500 v. 88

    This might help.
  17. I too thought you have to take the class in TX. I don't have the time now to read it all, but if you are interested you may want to start here. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/RSD/CHL/documents/CHLStatute.pdf
  18. I understand. I'll be watching this as well to see if there's a chance. I'm looking forward to moving to free America later this year so this would be helpful for me also. I sure would love to see someone in NJ use this to their advantage too.
  19. I too don't believe that anything has changed, though I wish it had. IIRC NJ allows machine guns with the correct permit, but that is the only NFA item NJ has a process for. I'm sure there can only be a couple really old timers who would still have sure as I can't imagine anyone could get such signed today. Just thinking that IF such were true then there is technically a way in NJ.
  20. So just how many people here will now start OC in PA (not Philly)?
  21. So then I'm 'only' out $300 + transfer + P2P But you are right, it can be undone. Just hoping someone here has tried it first.
