  1. I had to do this a month or two ago with CTD. I took a photo of my DL and my FID together on my iPhone. I called them up, asked for an email address, and sent it via email right from my phone. Now I order ammo all the time from them, and it shows up in just two or three days and I don't have to do anything else.
  2. I'd like to hear your wackiest range stories. I was inspired by my experiences this past weekend at a range I'd never been to before. So, I'll start with my own: So I was visiting my friend (we'll call him Keith) who lives in a bad neighborhood in a city in Pennsylvania. His range is in an even worse neighborhood. Anyway, it's a short indoor range with about eight ports, and we were there for several hours. At one point, the RO comes out and yells "cease fire!" because somebody apparently shot the little trolley on the ceiling that brings your paper target back and forth, and now he has to fix it. He makes everybody back up from the ports and stand against the wall. Then he comes up to me (I'm all the way at the end with my Raging Bull in .454) and says to me: "You load your gun and watch these guys. If anybody moves off the wall while I'm working, you shoot him!" Yikes. Yes, he was serious. OK so we all lived through that. Maybe an hour later, I've got my back to the ports while Keith is shooting. I'm reloading magazines. We've got this production line thing going - I load them and he empties them and passes them back. Well, right in front of my little shelf where I'm working is the window to the RO's office. There's two guys in there now, and they start banging on the window, frantically motioning towards me to get down, and pointing behind me. Well, there's this old guy in the port next to me and Keith, and he's waving his Glock around in the air, facing me and the window, away from the target area. WTF! So both RO's come charging out of the office into the range with their guns draw, shouting "PUT THE GUN DOWN! PUT IT DOWN!!!" and they basically dragged that guy out of there. Turns out he was suffering insulin shock, got confused about how to work the target trolley, and was trying to get some help and attention, and probably didn't realize what the heck he was doing at all. Keith and I fired almost 1000 rounds that day - and we had great stories to tell at the bar later. Good times!! What's the craziest thing that has happened to you?
  3. Does the front post sight interfere with the red dot at all? Did you need to use a riser (it's not clear from the picture)? What about some kind of quick-release for the red dot?
  4. I remember reading Jeff Cooper reporting repeatedly about Remington bolt-action rifles discharging even with the safety engaged back in the 90's. But this is the first time I've heard of it happening in shotguns.
  5. That probably isn't the link you intended.
  6. No, he and I have almost identical black range bags. We need like offical NJGF t-shirts or hats or something.
  7. Heh. Yeah, the Joe I met was definitely more of a Harley guy. Spoke of riding out to Sturgis and such. I saw him in the range area, but didn't notice what port he was using (my buddy and I were at 2 and 3).
  8. Major lulz were had! Who else was there? I met Joe, Kat, Nick, and a very tall young gentleman whose name escapes me now. Funny how my range bag is always so much lighter by the end of the evening! I neglected to get any pictures - did anyone else get any?
  9. I'll be there, but I have no 10mm. Gonna bring my AR and my awesome new Taurus Raging Bull in .454 (which ironically I got from Bullseye!). I'll be the guy with the beard, baseball hat, black ProEars and severe hearing damage. Stop by and say hi!
  10. I have two references that I always use - one is in Pennsylvania, one is in Connecticut. Neither is a relative. They're both very pro-2A.
  11. Have you considered flying out of Pennsylvania somewhere? I'm sure if you flew from Allentown or Philadelphia, the whole process would become a whole lot simpler and less aggravating. Just an idea. It's what I'd do, anyway. (haven't flown with my firearms yet, but will soon)
  12. Nice gat. Jealous of the ACOG. Why do you have two doors to the same damn room? LOL.
  13. I have nothing planned for either the 31st or the 1st, so I think I could make this. I'll bring my Citori with Gracoil shock absorber if anyone wants to try it. And yes, definitely in for Grumpys, too!
  14. Put in for 3 P2Ps in Edison on 1/3, just got a phone call now (3/13) that they're available.
  15. Does anyone know of an associated news story with this call? What was the legal outcome of this confrontation? Any more details at all?
  16. I've been to RTSP a couple of times before, and it's nice. I'm heading there again Sunday morning with a buddy, and want to try out my new Zastava. I know their website says "all handgun and rifle calibers," but I'm a little wary. I don't want to be "that guy." Has anyone had any experience with 7.62 at RTSP? Also, if you're there Sunday morning, say hi to the guys with the Zastava and the new S&W M&P .45 Compact.
  17. Thanks everyone! LVSC is Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays just north of Allentown, PA. It's hike to get there, but very worthwhile - a really nice facility. I've done sporting clays at M&M and Quinton (both in NJ) but they're both much farther than LVSC for me. It's an abandoned quarry and these creepy old buildings are all over the place. Haven't seen any zombies yet, tho.
  18. Hi! Long time reader (two+ years now) but never registered. This forum is really helpful and educational, so thank you everyone. Wanted to give a shout out to Chris at Bullseye for the gorgeous Zastava I got from him last week - I'm really in love with that thing, and can't wait to put some rounds through it. Thanks, Chris! I'm mostly into sporting clays, but I enjoy pistols and rifles at the range. I shoot a lot at LVSC, sometimes at Bullet Hole, and have been to RTSP twice. I'm getting more into rifles, so I would really look forward to a meetup at Range 14 (never been there yet). Also: put in for three pistol purchase permits in Edison on January 2nd - haven't heard a thing yet. Anyone else in Edison know about how long we're taking? Lastly, here's me and my Dad in the book Armed America from a few years ago. We still like to shoot clays whenever we get the chance. Good times! Hope to meet some of you folks soon.
