  1. Just picked up a Mossberg 500 TLF (Tactical Light Forend)... Paid about $470 for a great dependable shotgun with a bright integrated light... Easy decision for me. Added on a SOE single point bungee sling and a SOE Velcro shotgun card to the receiver for a super easy side saddle.
  2. Also... If you get your gun running nice and hot... Try not to leave a round in the chamber if you take a break. This helps mitigate the number of stuck cases.
  3. My wife's is fine... Checked it last night. As for the Glock vs S&W debate... While I do really really like the Sheild, the crisp Glock trigger reset puts it over the top for me. S&W wins in aesthetics, and I love the scalloped hand grips on the slide... But for me, form follows function. Also, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a single stack 9 from Glock.
  4. I gotta say... I'm a little disappointed... That I'm not at home to break open my bottle of Blanton's to celebrate... Lol. Hellz yea Christie!
  5. Update: Good as new, thanks to Heavyopp! Thanks for the bushing Jer! Worked like a charm. Put a little blue locktite on there... I don't foresee it giving any troubles in the future.
  6. First off... wow... Thanks everyone for the help! I'm so glad I found NJGF last year, you guys all rock. As for answering some questions... I looked at the other bushings... I really cant tell if they're staked, but the empty hole and bushing I messed up are threaded. And I'm definitely sure that they're not welded. I'm getting ready to head down to OBRPC now. I'll shoot you my contact info.
  7. So... I guess I done messed things up pretty good... Here is what has happened with my 1911. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I purchased a Wilson Combat "slip on" magwell for my Kimber TLE custom II. The following occured while I was re-installing the grips. It looks as though one of the bushings cross-threaded and would no longer accept the screw properly When i tried to remove the screw, the bushing came out with it While attempting to remove the bushing from the screw with needle nose pliers, I royally messed up the bushing So now I have no bushing in the top right side of my gun, and thus no screw. What do I do? Does a gun-smith need to install a new bushing? Does anyone have a recommended gunsmith in the central NJ area I can bring this to? Thanks.
  8. Glock 9mm 1911 .45 AR in 5.56 M1 Garand Mossburg or Remington 12 gauge .357 magnum revolver So far I'm only missing the last 2
  9. I stopped by on 7/6... So my report probably is null and void being that national matches are going on... But the Kimber .22s were plentiful... Looked like 2 racks worth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  10. Any speeding violation above 80mph in VA is AUTOMATICALLY a reckless by speed violation. Reckless by speed in VA is a misdemeanor criminal offense. How do I know? I'm still in the process of getting the exact same situation resolved. DO NOT just plead guilty on the ticket and send it back in... You will have a CRIMINAL record from a misdemeanor conviction. Get a lawer! PM me if you want more details. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  11. Saw that accident going in opposite direction... I counted 13 cars and a bus... Also, one of the cars showed evidence of fire damage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  12. PM responded... I'm in the pistol class. Would have done rifle instead, if it was on the weekend.
  13. Hey thanks man! It's been my dream gun since I was a kid... Never thought I would have to chance to get one so easily... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  14. They had a few chrome barreled Springfield 1903s when I was there... But they were in rough shape. Looked like they were ceremonial rifles. They also had a bunch of Kimber .22 target rifles...but they were all listed as possibly having "heavy rust" in the barrels due to improper storage. Also, the CMP south store might have a different selection. If you want, the CMP forum usually has guys that give "reports" on what is in each store almost daily... 15. If anyone winds up going... Ill help chip in for your gas $ if you pick up som Greek surplus 30-06 for me... I'm a total idiot for only buying $100 worth while I was there... Should of picked up a couple more cans at least
  16. Super easy...Had to: • Provide proof of US citizenship • Show membership in a CMP affiliated Club (OBRPC counts, also you can join a garand collectors club while you're there for $25 if you don't have a membership anywhere else) • show proof of Marksmanship activity ( they accepted my USPSA member card) • photo ID, background check, etc. ( normal gun purchase stuff)
  17. Took a trip out to see family in Detroit on 4th of July... And stopped by Camp Perry Ohio on my way home. Hands down, the CMP is one of the coolest rooms I have ever been in.... Just racks upon racks of "The greatest battle implement ever devised" After picking my jaw up off the floor, and checking stuff out for about half an hour, I was about to purchase a $550 rack grade M1 in rough shape. When I was about to check out, the guy at the counter told me that I might want to wait a minute and check out a batch of "Special" grade they were about to put out. Well that guy is awesome... I'm so glad he gave me the heads up. People flocked to the new additions to the show room when they came out, and I managed to pick up 1 that no one had gotten to yet. Looked at the tag and on it it said: Muzzle: 0 Throat: 1 There's probably nothing "correct" about it, and I doubt the wood is original based on how good it is... But it shoots dead on balls and its pretty much the most awesome thing I have ever purchased. And, as far as I can tell, the receiver serial number dates to 1943, so that's just icing on the cake for me. Only issue so far is that it ejects the clip early sometimes. Replaced the clip latch spring this weekend. Can't wait to get out to the range so I can shoot this thing again.
  18. Why would the stripped lower have to be received in NJ? Thought long gun purchases were ok in other states as long as it was NJ legal...
  19. Is it bad that my second thought upon seeing this was that she has a lack of trigger discipline... I think the first thought is obvious... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. Anybody know how much it would be to have someone switch out the end plate on my AR for one with a sling attachment? Or should I just man up and buy a castle nut wrench and just change it myself?
