Anyone know if that Federal .40 ammo is any good?
-
I believe they're only either 0.5 or 1 grain past max....but he finally figured out why the pressure signs are so high. He finally slugged the barrel and it came out at 0.409". Keep in mind "max loads" in reloading manuals are extremely conservative. My father's been handloading for decades. He knows what he's doing.

Awesomeness....I never knew of anyone but my father that swore by the .41 mag. His old model Ruger Blackhawk with handloads is N A S T Y. I actually won't shoot it. He's got his handloads past book max...and the damn thing will stand straight up in your hands no matter how hard you try to keep it down. I've seen him take shots with his 6 1/2" barrel .41 mag that I wouldn't take with a .357 mag 1894 Marlin. His Blackhawk has put down more animals than I can count....turkeys at ~80 yards....chipmunks at ~60 yards...bears.....deer.....you name it, a .41 mag will dispatch of it.

Yes they do.... The also have a no cell phone policy, lol. I'll be picking up one of those Federal .40 cases in the near future.

I take that to mean something that snaps or zips closed....not locked. I have a Mazda 3 and had to stick my rifles through the split rear seat. I never bothered to lock them up.

I love that guy's videos though.

I know they have 1k of Federal .40 for $380.....seemed reasonable to me. -
Only now beginning to scare you? I've been scared for over a decade at the direction this country is headed....and I'm only 30.
-
Someone's going to get shot over that.
-
^ This is how I do it. I feel like I have much more control of the gun and muzzle.

No, but I'll check next time I'm in. -
Prices on ammo before they shot up.

I can go to the store right now and pick up Remington UMC 50 pack of .40S&W for $15.....and 1k Federal .40S&W for $380. Edit: I'm not 100% on the $15 figure....but I'm pretty sure that's what he told me. I know the $380 is accurate though. -

Other than .22lr.....ammo doesn't seem to be nearly as scarce anymore. Full shelves at Targetmaster in PA. -
You should probably get a cat....that would probably keep the squirrels at bay.

Put up a "squirrel-free zone" sign.

Sweet rifles man. I must say I'm thinking about picking up one of these.

Holy hell....not exactly surprising to me, but still pretty neat. People forget humans are just animals.

Yea, this comes around every couple years. Total hoax. It's the exact same lingo every time. This is at least the 3rd if not the 4th iteration I've seen since I moved to the area. -

I've always used Craftsman...and they used to be made in the USA. Not sure about the new stuff. Was always impressed with their exchange policy....seen garbage turned in for brand new stuff. -
reloaded rounds do not fit in barrel - Help
WVisHome replied to NJSigfan's topic in Ammunition & Reloading
Gotcha. I've only ever reloaded rifle (no crimp) and helped my dad load .41 mag and .357 mag. -
Looking for a good OC/OWB holster for a baby Glock

This is one reason I haven't yet...lived in NJ too long and have been lulled into a state of Condition White, lol. That, and I don't really go anywhere I feel the "need" to carry either. I would carry to/from work because I work next to Chester, PA....but the plant doesn't allow firearms on the property.
