So it's not really a CCW. NY doesn't issue CCWs, even NY city doesn't issue CCWs. They issue pistol permits, and they can issue them with or without restrictions. Sounds like you got one with restrictions, probably hunting and target. It's a start anyway. I know people who got their restrictions removed after about a year. But they are residents, not nonresidents.

The answer with the NJSP Sussex barracks is NO! My initial FID came in a couple of months. My last set of permits came in closer to 6 months. Plus they only take your paperwork by appointment and the Sgt is never available by phone to take your appointment.

Actually the only nationalities having problems are Mexico, mainland china and Philippines. This is because they send so many people here that they put a quota on them while the rest of the world is only subject to category limits. In fact if you are from the PI expect your application to be gone over with a fine tooth comb because of rampant fraud and mail order brides.
