  1. Or as Mark Wahlberg said in "Ted": "From one guy to another I have to say I really hope you get Lou Gehrig's disease"
  2. Wait..What? You're coming from JC to a meeting in Flemington? Awesome.
  3. Gents--this is a political ploy. Nothing more. Much like all of the skewed "opinion polls" that the media keeps drilling into everyone's heads that "most NRA members favor...." Mainor's motive is to use his conversations with all of us as ammunition AGAINST us. He can then say that he "reached out to many citizens in the state to find common ground, and the interactions went well". He's playing himself up to be the good guy who tried to compromise, and we were still all the evil gun owners who outed him for his inappropriate Facebook page, and rigidly will not agree to "common sense" (the man repeated those propaganda words no less than 4 times in his opening remarks-BEFORE ANY "DISRESPECT" had the opportunity to arise) of any sort. This agenda was crafted, and all of these bills were written a LONG time ago--they just needed the necessary tragedy to grandstand their cause.
  4. You should see my responses to their endorsing the "Terrorist Watch List" bill on their Facebook page. We've officially entered Bizarro world when I'm actually arguing FOR civil liberties for groups that support left-of-center organizations.
  5. I'll make every effort to attend. Jacket, no tie.
  6. Dumbest law ever--So the people who owned firearms, and were required to evacuate during Hurricane Sandy were forced to leave their firearms behind-potentially to theft or otherwise abandonment.
  7. Nora was simply awesome. Someone must find this woman. She didn't back down and came right back every time. I want to know who the "Jew from Cherry Hill" was too. The economic impact to this state will be absolutely devastating. As usual, guys like Fiamingo and Biden continued to impress.
  8. Not to beat anyone up-but how has anyone NOT heard about this disaster set of bills? Yell from the rooftops, email, carrier pigeon, or otherwise let everyone within earshot know about this. We cannot afford to let these bills (except the publish info bill) get anywhere near passing. Hell, I cornered the guy delivering the propane to my house to alert him. Make no mistake about it-we are in for the fight of our lives. This is worse than the 90's. Far far worse.
  9. All one has to do is listen to Mainor's disdain, contempt, and arrogance to the people at that hearing, and you have your answer.
  10. ummm, no. The bill may still become a law even if the Governor DOESN'T sign them after 45 days.We need these to die, or an outright veto. http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/legislativepub/legprocess.asp
  11. Simply point them to the NJ2AS YouTube page, and instruct them to watch. Shows the insanty, antiquated process, and the confusing vagueness of the laws
  12. Answers to questions 2,3, and 4 should all be a firm "no".
  13. Based off of what someone posted from the Maryland hearings-it sounded like they tried to wait everyone out in hopes they'd go home-not sure it even ended until after 9pm. Give em hell boys-wish I could go. But I've been keeping the pressure in all of these legislators. I can proudly say that EVERY legislator in my District 24 (Doherty, DiMaio, and Peterson) is very much Pro-2A
  14. Holy crap those people are stupid. Still have no idea what existing laws are. "We must regulate the sale of ammunition so that the criminals who bring illegal guns into NJ cannot freely purchase bullets to use in them on our streets." Umm, they have no clue that you need an FID to buy ammo in NJ? Stupid people should not be allowed to vote. I'll try and make which idiotic ones of these I can. And by the way-how much gun crime does Hunterdon really have?
  15. I already thought of that-forget about "renewals". The initial change to the required photo FID will essentially invalidate everyone's FID in the state-at one time. If they can't handle the volume of new applicants, how could they ever support EVERYONE in the state AT THE SAME TIME. Which a deadline date is unattainable.
  16. That CCW being in NJ is keeping company with Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster, and the Abominable Snowman. They vacation with the Easter Bunny, and accompany Santa Claus on his deliveries.
  17. Everything that's wrong with this country--because it extends to ignorant voting citizens as well.
  18. I actually like this idea (minus the expiration)--Until I was trying to figure out how they'd enforce it, or rather give a time horizon to update the existing FID's. Essentially this is a map to invalidate EVERYONE's FID's--at which point I'm sure that we'd have to resubmit applications (and get extorted for more money to go through the background check process again--much like simply changing an address.) and schedule time to get photos taken. Are we really naive enough to believe that if the issuing LE agencies who can't meet the current demand of NEW FID applicants within the required 30 day window, that they'd realistically be able to issue FID's to the EXISTING roughly 1million owners in NJ? So basically everyone's FID's would become invalid, then the LE's would either take their time as they do now, and it would literally take YEARS to get everyone's FID's up to the new standard-or not at all. In the meantime, while we're waiting to get issued new "Picture FIDs", they craft even MORE legislation that somehow makes the process even more onerous. Horrid. Simply simply horrid that our legislators could care less what anyone thinks. It continues to baffle me why people think that it's ok for legislators to be "professional politicians". If we want to get into a pissing match about "what the Founding Fathers meant", we should focus on public service NOT being a full time career choice.
  19. Me too. But--I have been giving some good thought to language (no, not that kind of language) that I would prepare as a short, concise response to these proposals-if anyone that is going would like to use, I'll be happy to share it with the team. Most of it centering around the EXISTING laws-antiquation of the process, and asking how NJ plans to replace the lost tax revenue of the steady stream of citizens who leave this state. And how they plan to address when the only ones who will be left are either the victims, or the criminals.Literally exhausted from all of this--but that is their plan: Wear us down through attrition.
  20. Might want to check with or add Asm John DiMaio also from District 23. He's a cosponsor of Doherty's carry revision, as well as repeal of OGAM. http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/bio.asp?leg=313
  21. So I guess Bob's solution is the only realistic one-because no amount of calling, faxing, or letter writing is going to change the minds of traitors of the Constitution like Lautenberg, Menendez, Holt, Cryan, Jimenez, the list goes on. And I plan on doing precisely that as soon as feasibly possible. Let the remaining Liberal Democrats fill my tax revenue gap left by my absence.
  22. It's a sad state of affairs that we're clinging hope on none of this legislation passing simply as a matter of our Governor having self interest in a POTUS run...sad indeed. We need to activate to vote every one of these Constitution killers out of office. I don't want to leave my fate to the stroke of one man's pen.
