Must have for all range bags
  2. Not going to jump into the normal this that and so on. I tend to stay out of theses topics. That said this one has hit close. They have started releasing names, One of the Victims is originally from our town, My wife went to school with him. Thoughts go through my mind but not the ones I read when things like this happen.
  3. Or all according to what you want to spend to stay over, You can call M&M and get A room in their lodge on site.
  4. Or just make the drive the day of. Allow enough time to stop for A decent breakfast, Cracker Barrel is just A few miles from M&M. Go shoot with Anthony, Enjoy and take as much away as you can.
  5. Not for nothing, But the above examples are exactly why I will NEVER use an indoor range.
  6. I reviewed it again, This is what I would suggest to someone here in town. With this being the 1st billing ( that's retroactive, Unfortunately) You should contact City Hall and ask if they will approve A payment plan for the bill you have in hand. We do have that option here. It is usually used when someone buys A property and has to assume back City utility bills in the purchase. Then after the Holiday You should make A trip to city hall to speak to someone to get the exact definition of the code. Or bring the question right to your council meeting. This is the option I would give someone in our town, As we govern by and under the Walsh act where each commissioner heads specific departments. If you have A Elected mayor and City council then most likely you will be referred to the correct dept head in town, As Councilmen don't oversee city depts directly. for me to say your screwed would be the wrong comment. But yes it seems you and 400 or so others are responsible for the first billing by due date. Either in full or by agreement with the Utility Dept in town. Good luck. And use you right as A taxpayer to go to some meetings, Introduce yourself and get to know your elected officials. You may be surprised what they or you can help each other with.
  7. I sat and read the Ammended ordinace A couple times. These are my thoughts after reading twice, the meeting was scheduled and proper notice given as to time and place and matter considered. NO body ( Homeowners ) made any comment for or against or even asking questions of the council members. The Agenda and order of business is in compliance with NJ State law. Cutting through all the legal speak, which is normal on all bills or resolutions we consider, It comes down to this in my reading. They set the first billing for sewer, Based on prior year usage 1-15 thru 12-15. Fair and concise as probably 90% of residents will not have A drastic change in yearly usage. There is the option included to add A sewage discharge meter, But it comes with A $100.00 per year charge for reading of meter 2 times A year. (Basically A catch all, designed for people not to do it due to fee) They did insert an appeal process, But the stinger is. No appeal will be heard if bill in question is not paid to date. Back handed but legal. Completely opposite of appealing property taxes. To sum it up. You have A couple options. 1 Get in touch with people you know in the area, Ask what they are being billed and their thoughts. 2 If you find that the bill you received is on average with others. You can get together and go as A group to request some relieve in paying this initial billing. IE 12 equal payments. The catch here though is if your usage is out of line with others, Your basically on your own. Then its time for changes on your end, Or just be prepared to pay close to that amount each year. If this was happening here in our town we would be expecting A crowd at our next Commission meeting. With the same questions you have. Just due to the fact that no one cares till they feel they are being dealt A bad deal. The same thing that we see all the time at meetings is what happened at this meeting. We have maybe 6-8 folks out to our Commission meetings each date. They speak and question the commissioners and actually have good input, Which is considered in decisions. But the chambers are filled when A resolution like this has become law. When its actually to late to change it. Hope this helps with your thoughts and concerns.
  8. That is correct in the right text. Looks to me like that is part of the building code for the town its written for. Pertaining to new construction. IN which it places 2 scenarios. If no public sewer and water available in area OR dwelling is set back so far as to be deemed cost prohibitive to provide service to property. Then well and septic permits would be given. If dwelling is within set distance from utilities the owner must hook to municipal system. My references above are to existing properties where A City or town runs sewer and water past them after the fact of house being there. Example being our property. We were here long before city water and sewer. The town offered everyone A nice option to hookup before the road was repaved. But could not force us to. Some people did. We didn't because we aren't planning to sell and have A well and septic system that should last our lifetimes.
  9. Pretty much sums it up. Truth is even the early Dem prospect know they cant run against the money he brings with him.
  10. It's state law. If sewers are available you MUST hook up. No choice in the matter. This statement is incorrect. State laws requires hookup to municipal Water or Sewer, Under 2 conditions. 1 Failure of private well or septic system, requiring replacement of said systems. 2 Prior to sale or tranfers of property. A municipality can attempt to force hookup. But legally they cannot except in the above situations.
  11. Unfortunately you are caught in A situation that happens A lot, I Towns and Counties in NJ. I will use City Comission meetings for example. All meetings open, closed or special, Must be made public in 2 media print editions announcing date time and place. All Agendas must be posted on City or County websites, along with minutes from prior meetings (unless it was A closed meeting) there are 2 readings of proposed resolutions. 1st reading is to introduce a resolution, At that time it is open to public comment, And comments from officials. 1st reading is then passed by majority vote, or not and it is dead. 2nd reading is done at the next scheduled meeting, The public can comment at the time of Agenda comments, That takes place before any votes on resolution. That is the last chance for public comment for or against before the vote on 2nd reading. If second reading is passed by majority vote it becomes Law. This is where people (myself included before I learned) feel they got screwed by something like you are experiencing now. Point is, It takes very little time to check your town or counties website to be aware of actions coming. both good or bad. Its legal and has been for many decades. The way it works or doesn't depends on public awareness. That is how things happen and the fact that people don't look at these things is what allows cities and towns to move things thru without objections from Tax payers. They depend on you not to keep track of what they do. Sorry it was long winded. But that is how it works in A democracy, Not just NJ but the USA.
  12. If you know NJjoniguy (Brian) You can talk to him as being A reference. He is A member at Cumberland, If A member sponsors you that's all you need is 1. 13. 1st. People must get out to vote. 2nd. If voting republicans can sway 1 Dem. to open their eyes and flip them. We might have the numbers. Sad part is, The rotation for State elections has no connection to any so called important elections. (National) So people just do not turn out. Which is A death blow for A republican candidate. The past National election had record turnout in the entire State of NJ. That wont happen with next years cycle, Unfortunately! Best idea is use examples already being seen since Nov. Stock Market, Holiday sales, and Trumps vision. And put them to folks to think about, Get out get involved, Its the only option in this State, As A large part of the electorate in NJ is beholden to the Dems, For reasons we all know.
  14. Not A new idea. But still A dream. I have dealt with VA healthcare personally for many years. No Governor in any State will ever turn A federal program into being governed or overseen at A state level... Unless of course you could be planning on giving the Vets of this state A VA/Choice/NJ Medicaid card. But most of us would be to proud to except something like that.
  15. That is how we do it at times also but we don't stack it out just move it from truck as needed. And yes some and each year more will check. But not all. Do A search online for PA campgrounds and you will find plenty of good info for CGs. PA and NJ both have very good guides for free in most all Rv sales places and CG.
  16. Most every Campground that you check will not allow BYO Firewood. That said from experience with traveling all over each year. Are you tenting or have A travel trailer?
  17. When you get those glasses, Just take A drill bit and drill some holes in the top of the lens just under where they meet the frame. I did that to all my lenses and it will solve your Issue. It least it did for me. I drilled 5 holes 1/16" in diameter at the top of each lense.
  18. Looking at the posts and not taking sides. I would say you did the right thing with mentioning it to A member of the VFW. Let that take the road to where it leads. As to the personal issues, Theres nothing I can offer to you on them. You say above that hes not in the best health, could be it just didnt cross his mind in the way it did for you. Stolen Valor is A hotspot for Vets and their Families. As A Vet myself, Thats the best I can offer for you.
  19. Small ones for me to. The rubber plugs. Started using them in Spring and have had no issues, Use them for my shotgun shooting which is 2 or 3 times A week for clays and trap. I definitely recommend them.
  20. Yep I know, and the reason I asked what I did id that it would take who knows how long for someone to tell me how to do it. Then what someone who knows how to can get it done. Just like the top of the post I asked if someone could post it as I didnt know how. I not afraid to admit I cant do something and dont mind asking. Thats all. That's what being an old timer sometimes causes. Hell I hungout om Jax beach back in 75.
  21. Maybe someone like Mipa can take this bill over to PAFAO forum and post it. I bet Gunlawyer would decipher it and make since of what it possibly means or doesnt mean for NJ. Evan Nappen makes A living answering questions, Gunlawer over on the other forum is A member there and offers thoughts on things like this.
  22. I glad some of you guys are pulling the bill apart and making sense of it. I read it one way then read other thoughts on here, and now I see other things showing it could be the best thing to come around , to help NJ. Carry on and Thanks guys.
  23. Thats the bill as written, which has the clarity of the bill. I didnt see that bill in my search, so yes, as written it doesnt do much for us. Basically it keeps things as they are now with the states that recognize Non-Res permits that some of us now have in NJ. Whos well enough in writing to send A letter to this Rep in NC? touching on our situation here in NJ.
  24. In a search of this, It looks like it may well bring relief to NJ residents that have non res permits. It in no way will effect the way NJ issues permits, as that's not it intent, Not saying that if it or something like it should pass. That it may possibly push NJ by cause and effect, to remove "Justifiable need" in order to turn CCW permits into A cash cow for the state. Just think about the price tag that NJ could put on requirements for A NJ CCW. Unfortunatly I'm not good at finding and attaching items to pages.. Its an easy search, for one of you guys to get and post here.
