  1. My permit says sportsman on the back and I also received a letter from the judge with the following "Hunting is defined to include hunting, fishing, camping and hiking when allowed by law". My residence upstate is called a "camp" when I walk any where I'm on a "hike". When my wife received her permit the judge told her to carry even if she goes across the street to pick berries. I'm sure the judge may frown upon carrying in Wal Mart or the supermarket but not much else.
  2. All NY state permits are carry permits except if it says premises only. Some judges will place restrictions on a permit sportsman, hiking, fishing. hunting, target shooting but these have no rule of law. They are administrative only. You can not be charged with a crime for carrying outside your restrictions but if you are reported to the judge that issued your permit they can revoke it.
  3. I have a NY permit and yes it's legal everywhere but the five boroughs. You can carry stop for gas or food just like in America. On the other hand you can only have 10 round magazines and your AR can't have a pistol grip so there are trade off's.
  4. I put this on mine and the LGS near my home upstate sells AR's with the spur on them so they must be legal YMMV depending. I have no muzzle device or threaded barrel and bring only 10 round mags. http://ar15spur.com/index.html
  5. This is very sad and I feel bad for the individuals friends and family as well as all our friends at RTSP. My wife and I finished a couples home defense course at around 4:30 and I'm very happy we were not there when this happened.
  6. Best line in the show so far. 2nd best the sub-title "weak"
  7. It does not mention signs on a wire frame. That is how the politicians get away with t.
  8. Ordered when they came back in stock and it shipped today.
  9. Truth be told I stole that line from Groucho Marx.
  10. I would never join a club that would have me as a member.
  11. Can't chainsaw they're not my trees I've already tried the growing stuff in 5 gallon pails. It's a no go I just do not have enough sunlight to grow anything except bleeding hearts, astillbe and pachysandra.
  12. About a dozen 80' tall oak trees are stopping me. I get 0 direct sunlight throughout the day.
  13. I could care less about a lawn but would love to have a vegetable garden.
  14. That's what I have. I don't even own a lawn mower. I use a string trimmer to cut down whatever the stuff is that grows in the full shade I have. I only have to do it once or twice a year if there is not too much rain.
  15. I agree 100%. I have them for home and auto. In the last 5 years due to the 2 hurricanes, snowstorms and other weather related incidents they have paid out more in claims than I will pay in premiums in the next 20 years. Their claims response is excellent. I had a check in less than 15 days every time and they never raised my premiums. Get them if you can.
  16. I have one in 20 gauge and am very happy with it. I use it for trap and skeet. It leaves you at a disadvantage due to the 26" barrels but I figure with practice I will get better. I've put over a thousand rounds through it so far and no problems. For the price I don't think you can go wrong.
  17. For Rifle: If your close to the PA border and don't mind a little drive get a PA public shooting range permit. $25 for a year and I think the closest one to Sussex Co is by Lake Wallenpaupak. The ranges are OK but you can't beat the price. For Pistol I belong to RTSP for all the reasons previously mentioned plus only 15 minute drive for me.
  18. Cindy and I had a great time yesterday. Cindy would like to thank everyone for being patient trying to teach her. We will try and make the next one in September.
  19. I'll have a .410 sxs you're welcome to try. I should be there by 9:30.
  20. 9 AM for me and the missus. Does anyone who is coming have a hunting license? We need 1 person with one.
  21. I voted for 8/8 but I can do 8/9 if that's the choice.
  22. Not true. He chose that theater because it had an emergency exit close to a parking spot. It just happened to be a gun free zone. This info was in the diary/manifesto that was released during the trial.
