The entire permitting process is BS if you go by the Bruen ruling. What tests did they give the Minutemen, and what fees did they have to pay, prior to letting them join the militia?

Democrats Slam New Regulations On Micro Breweries
Fred2 replied to 45Doll's topic in General Discussion
If we lived in a free society, there would be no need for regulations on either bars or micro breweries. The face that all this regulation is "required" is a sad statement on the land of the free. -
I think we are getting boned on the testing requirements. Here is what some friends on a different forum posted when I asked about qualifications. This is what they have to do in WI Qualification? We had a three hour class on rules. We never shot a gun nor where we asked to bring one. and for PA Hmm... We hand the Sheriff a filled out application (front side of a piece of paper) and our ID, he runs a background check, and 10 mins later we're out of there with a permit to carry concealed in hand. Repeat every 5 years. And Texas If you have a pulse and $50 in Texas you get a permit.

Supreme Court Takes First 2A Case in a Decade
Fred2 replied to Bklynracer's topic in National Gun Law Discussion
I was just posting a clean link to the one on the bottom of this page. Personally, if I were one of the first to apply, I would use one of those. No point in giving them a reason to deny. -

The are the "approved" RPO ranges. I assume you can use others, but they may be challenged. -

If your choice for ccw is a mouse gun like this, I can see 25 yds being an issue. Can you qualify with a real gun, and then carry a small one? -

Given that most self defense shootings would be at close range, what is the point of the qualification shooting at 25 yards? -
Do you know something about civilization coming to an end that you're not sharing with us?

Now we have to push for a Stand Your Ground law.

this looks like the important part. (b) Each applicant shall demonstrate a thorough familiarity with the safe handling and use of handguns by indicating in the space provided therefor on the application form, and on any sworn attachments thereto, any relevant information. Thorough familiarity with the safe handling and use of handguns may be evidenced by: 1. Completion of a firearms training course substantially equivalent to the firearms training approved by the Police Training Commission as described by N.J.S.A. 2C:39-6j; 2. Submission of an applicant's most recent handgun qualification scores utilizing the handgun(s) he or she intends to carry as evidenced by test firings administered by a certified firearms instructor of a police academy, a certified firearms instructor of the National Rifle Association, or any other recognized certified firearms instructor; 3. Completion of a course or test in the safe handling of a handgun administered by a certified firearms instructor of a police academy, a certified firearms instructor of the National Rifle Association, or any other recognized certified firearms instructor; or 4. Passage of any test in this State's laws governing the use of force administered by a certified instructor of a police academy, a certified instructor of the National Rifle Association, or any other recognized certified instructor. -

Based on #2, why should we require anything other than a back ground check? and I even question that. -

I just saw this note from a legal type, regarding the ruling. It applies to NY, so states that push (Maryland) will have to have someone sue the state because the state law is unconstitutional based on this ruling. The state will lose, but it will take someone to follow through to do it. Some states have already said as much. (That their laws are unconstitutional but it will take someone going to court to change it). A smart legislator would push to amend the laws to match the ruling. We won’t see that. -

What exactly does this mean? We therefore reverse the judgment of the Court of Appeals and remand the case for further proceedings consistent with this opinion. -

The root cause of the problem is that people litter. Banning bags to stop litter is the same as banning guns to stop people from getting shot.
