  1. No one is going to get any Clays (of any type) until at least next spring. The Clays plant burned down and is being rebuilt.
  2. Alex also shoots the USPSA matches and will bring them with him and save you the shipping. I got my first ones from him just over a month ago and have been very happy with them. They do not lead up the barrel at all, like the regular lubed lead bullets do.
  3. Alex (owner) says that he's fired many thousand of his bullets thru his Glock with the stock barrel. FWIW
  4. Great! I'll send you a message with the info I need and instructions.
  5. I need two more iPads for beta testing my Steel Scoring app for the Old Bridge Steel match on Nov 3rd. I have three I can bring, but need at least two more (5 total for 5 squads) so we can score the whole event for testing purposes. If you know for sure that you will be at this event and can bring an iPad to score your squad, please contact me via PM. Thanks. -Adam
  6. Anyone get the video to work? It just tries to endlessly load for me and never starts. Tried on two different devices.
  7. I looks very similar to the Bighorn one, but has a 5 yr warranty instead of limited lifetime and free replacement for break-in or fire damage like the Bighorn does. Guess the question might be, is the extra $200 for a better warranty worth it?
  8. This is a really fun event and I'm surprised that this event isn't packed! .22lr ammo is becoming available again and it would be great to see more people there! Please be there early. These "action" events can be shot with .22lr pistol and/or rifle (sometimes stages with both [multigun]).
  9. Yes, but keep in mind that pro race teams are sponsored and change the oil after every race. There is no way in hell that they are going to keep it in longer. While it is better than Dino oil, if you keep it in too long, you are doing more harm (due to contaminates in the oil). You would be better off with regular oil and changing it more frequently. Of course the only way to really know "how long" would be to have your oil analyzed.
  10. I only buy Stihl equipment and the two places I've bought stuff from over the years both say to only use premium. Since they not only sell the stuff, but also service it, they say the can instantly tell if a 2-stoke motor was run on regular or premium. Since the lawn guys beat the heck out of equipment and get their stuff fixed by them, I trust they know what they are talking about. So I will only use premium for my stuff.
  11. There certainly was an issue with oil leaks when switching to synthetic oil when it first came out. The issue was that regular oil kept the gaskets/seals swollen and they kept their seal. The synthetic oils did not do that and when the seals shrank, they leaked oil like crazy. Since then they have added special additives to prevent that from happening. I'm not so sure that this is really an issue with the modern synthetic oils.
  12. The most important thing is to change it frequently. I have a friend who was sponsored by Bel-Ray (one of the top performance lube companies) back a long time ago. The cool thing was that he had to send a oil sample after every oil change, which he did after every single race in the car. Of note, after a race at Bridgehampton (a track long gone that was on Long Island) a track that was very sandy, the oil analysis showed a high level of silica (sand) in the oil. What we sometimes forget is that besides the combustion contaminates in the oil there are things that come through the intake and passed the air filter. So what you have in your oil, if you run it for a long time, is a nice polish wearing down the parts. So nothing is better than frequent oil changes, IMHO. Here's another one for you! When was the last time you changed your brake fluid? It seems to be the one thing that people never change. I do it in my sports cars every year and trucks at least every two (worst case) and race car every event or two. Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning that it absorbs water very quickly. This causes two problems. First it reduces the "boiling point" so if you ever needed to really use the brakes hard for an extended time (e.g. Going down a very steep hill) you can boil the fluid and loose your brakes. Second, the water in the brake components will start to rust and can cause your calipers to seize or fail eventually.
  13. That's the whole deal. Shoot fast but don't miss. Alec can reload that revolver pretty damn quick, so I know he can do well.
  14. Call the police and when they come, have a head on collision with them since there isn't enough room to safely pass.
  15. This is too funny!!! http://www.fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/peta-crashes-biker-gathering-not-to-be-missed/27275
  16. I trimmed as much of the edges off as possible and then laminated it. Then I trimmed as much of the laminate off the edges as I thought I could get away with and it just fits in my wallet with the CC cards.
  17. If the cop didn't show up he should have asked the judge for it to be dismissed on the spot, no?
  18. Besides a handgun you should bring at least 100 rounds. Don't think I've ever gone over that for the indoor. You also need at least 3 magazines. The other thing for indoor is that you can also use a 22 caliber pistol (unlike USPSA outdoor). Yes i believe that non-members can attend, but need a member to enter with from what someone said at the last one.
  19. I was just going to say that. You would also have to at least power some sort of processor and be able to write to either some sort of storage (memory or flash) to be able to "record" the data points. You would not be able to "transmit" any of this info without the power of a battery and doubtful that you could "record" much without it either. The MIT paper suggests that the "additional" power consumption is nearly zero, but only considering that everything else is powered up (cpu, memory, cellular chip, etc.).
  20. Not going to happen. The caps would have to be as big as the whole cellphone to send and receive cellular signals for more than a seconds.
  21. No way. The GPS circuits eat the battery like crazy. If you remove the battery, there is no way they could use the GPS for tracking. Capacitors couldn't even keep the cell signal going for more than a couple seconds.
