  1. Go back & check the corner. Take pictures. I bet there's some tiny tiny white sign stating you can't turn during school hours of 7:30-9:30 am or 2:30-4:30 pm blah blah blah.... check the right side shoulder before you reach the corner
  2. Speaking of Trenton, you go on the NJ state police crime report statistics for 2012, 2011, etc... & you'll find the majority of crimes with firearms in Trenton & Newark. Why don't they go after those violent crimes now that they know where they occur? Why beat up on honest legal gun owners? I bet the majority of those illegal guns recover are from out of state also
  3. You're a real pal. Thanks for making all of us feel better about living in NJ. I guess we're not as enlightened as you are.
  4. I disagree. A shady looking dude can ask to see my apples & oranges all he wants if I'm selling fruits. No problem there. But for goods classified as dangerous, I would ask for an FID to verify that the person is not a felon. You can't safely give anyone the benefit of the doubt these days, just to avoid hurting a buyer's feelings. For all you know, some crazy may just show up at your gun store with a loaded mag in his pocket.
  5. I actually prefer reloading revolvers than mags, even with a mag loader device. I mentally count my shots. Who the heck wants to mentally count to 15 ?
  6. Get a plastic FN. I feels like a Sig alloy frame... choice of either striker or hammer I think
  7. I think there's a gut of ARs out there right now. How many can one really stock up on? Or use? You only have 2 hands...
  8. I don't really see a need for 10 vs 15 round mags for a 22lr caliber. Are you going to use it for home defense?
  9. I am glad they ask everyone for ID. Just think. If you look like a clean cut guy, the salesperson would likely just give you the pistol. Right behind him would be a shady looking dude asking to see the same pistol. What can the salesperson say, hey buddy to the latter, let me see your FID if you have one? By asking fir FID 100% of the time, salespeople will never be accused of discriminating in the name of safety.
  10. Just get the FNX-40 with 14 rounds Is it the recoil? Cops love .40
  11. I understand your position. When you compare a kimber to an ed brown or a wilson, you'll think you have just scored big. Everything is relative. I myself would not spend $2K+ on a 1911. Now about comparing a glock to a 1911. A 1911 sings to you, begs you to hold her, hold her, & never never let her go.... S&W & springfiled 1911s are also awesome. S&W also charges big $$$ for their performance 1911s
  12. If you don't notice .40 recoil maybe you should skip 686 & go straight to the 629.
  13. Para & remington 1911 look kind of bland compared to the improvements to the 1911 these days. Check out the Kimber 1911 site. It's yummy.
  14. here's some brainwashing photos for you http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxguns/6843331808/lightbox/ yeah that 4" or 5" is a good length for the range. the 5" is a bit harder to find than the 4". if you don't like the shiny look, you can always send it off for beadblasting. believe me stainless is better than blued cause you'll be spending a lot of elbow grease getting the powder off the cylinder. Of course, if it's black, then the dirty will just blend in... Kleen-Bore Lead Away Gun Cleaning Cloth Of course you can always go Glock .40 & have the option to get a 357 Sig barrel. (it's loud)
  15. Try & get an Italian made INOX, not the American version. That's what I would do. A revolver? That's a no brainer GP100 or 686, just have to decide on caliber, stainless or blued, & barrel length. Before anyone jumps at me, there are 327 mag versions for the gp100. Oh man, that 92fs is going to be awesome when you slap some hogue aluminum grips on it. White aluminum grips on an INOX. Sweet Good luck!
  16. Most hunters know a shot animal can run off pretty far before it actually dies. Now think what that huge hungry bear will do to you after you emptied your entire 22lr mag on the animal? For those who argue about shot placement, just think how fast that bear will close in on you as your heartbeat races?
  17. It's both, function + form. Come on, Shane. I bet all of us have stared at our pistols on the dresser & think: "wow, this is a really nice looking piece. Just look at the sunlight reflecting off the stainless slide. Whoa, the fish scales or the snake skin patterns on my 1911. I'm sure one lucky guy....wonder what's for lunch tomorrow....."
  18. You 2 guys are cool. I'm glad some of us can take a joke & some raw comments on this forum. I believe forums should be enjoyable & differing opinions are to be debated.
  19. In my humble opinion, don't butcher the revolver. Just sell it & get another one. Btw, it's going to be hard selling something you've customized later on.
  20. Sorry about the tupperware bit. I'm not cheap, just looking for value. Getting the most & spending the least. omg, I'm cheap!
  21. You must be a commie for trying to restrict free speech. Take it for what it is, my opinion & don't go postal. Let's be honest. Just look at the revolver. The barrel doesn't even fit with the frame when it comes to curves. It's like a franken-gun. Who the heck slap that together on the drawing board, a blind gun designer? It's aweful looking, no matter how nice it shoots. Life is all about form + function. Life is like a firearm, you want to date that woman cause she's got curves & can perform.
