  1. I got it basically to bolt down to a shelf or something in my bedroom, just so I have very easy/quick access if needed to a handgun. It's absolutely PERFECT for that situation type use. All the features they have in there are spot on. Everything works exactly as it says. Custom combo plus key access. It'll sounds alarm if combo is entered wrong 3+ times, it'll sound alarm if it's "moved/jarred" enough. I played with all the features and was impressed for the price. Again, for the price, it is what it is...which isn't Fort Knox lol. Hope you like it!
  2. For the under $60 price point. I bought it. I haven't anchored it down/installed it anywhere yet. It's actually still in the box, but I played with it a bit to see it's features. It's perfect for what it is. It's not a safe to be in plain sight saying "here come fuck with me" kind of security. It's a safe to be used for a spot where you would normally have a loaded handgun hidden, but would rather have a way of securing it a bit in case someone like your kid has access to. You press a combo of 4 buttons, it opens on it's own and you got your handgun, A LOT better then being in a locked case like mine is now hidden in the closet with a key hidden somewhere else.
  3. Primarily it's a safe to keep little hands off of it. It does have a movement alarm that would alert you if someone was trying to move it also. If someone broke into your house and wanted to take a safe that's more sturdy or harder to brake into, they would have enough time to walk off with it and break into it later, just like maintenanceguy said. Tom- You got an especially good deal because only certain Lowes were giving them away for that price. They were just trying to get rid of their stock. Other Lowes still had them $70/$100/$120. Upon some research it was like 2 or 3 Lowers sold them very low. IDK about $10 but very cheap. IMO it does exactly what it should do and at a great price.
  4. The great thing about forums like this is it lets us view all sides of a certain discussion. Between this thread and ogfarmers does show while something like this bill may look good on the outside, it isn't good at the core of it. I was looking it through a parents eyes, I am not worried about children's safety in my home whether they're mine or someone else's but the safety of them in others homes. When really...it's all just common sense that ALL gun owners should should know. Just as DeerSlayer stated: You can't fix stupid and viewing these two threads does make me realize it's not that safety training is bad but it shouldn't be up to the Government to further put laws into place that restricts a Constitutional right. I appreciate everyone's input!
  5. I'd assume "hehe" that your certification would be immediate upon completion of the course. Which would be a no big deal. Also, yes I'd also hope current FPID holders would be exempt.
  6. I kept searching and couldn't find it. I apologize, must not have looked back far enough. Edit: I didn't look under.... Suggest a Bill for discussion
  7. I haven't seen this posted but was curious what everyone thinks. http://www.guns.com/2014/11/04/new-jersey-lawmakers-seek-mandatory-training-for-potential-gun-owners/ I see the good and the bad in it. I think all gun owners should be 100% up on gun safety, especially around children. If it's an "initial" type training I'm actually okay with it. If they make you do training every time you apply for a P2P or have to get a new FPID because you moved then that's overboard.

That's not too bad, I'm trying to find something around $350 or less out the door. Probably the best I've found was around the same price. I know you can get em for $300ish plus nics and tax ect. Maybe not in NJ though.

Yup, everything I've read is very positive. My wifes P2P expires the end of the month so I'd like to find a deal on it before then, otherwise I'll make her apply for an extension. I'm really down with this as an inexpensive 9mm.
  10. Yup, I order most my ammo from Sportsmans Guide. I never had to send a copy of my FID to them either.
  11. All great input so far. Also, the P7 isn't going to be my main range gun anyway but I want ammo I can shoot with it and not gum it up too quickly.
  12. Also be known, as the water gets "conditioned" in a new tank...you will lose some fish.
  13. Reloads aren't a choice at this time Just not enough room to even consider it, when I move that's a different story
  14. What's everyone's go to 9mm ammo around a $12-$15/50 round price? I've been slowly stocking up on PMC Bronze 124 Grain. I've also seen some good reviews on Fiocchi.. My wife picked up some Blazer Brass... Also my Father sent me a link awhile back to get some Magtech mega cheap which I didn't get a chance to order...wish I did... So, what's the general consensus? I'm not asking for stopping power, I'm inquiring about clean range ammo. One of the guns I'll be shooting at the range is a HK P7 which gets dirty easily, so want some clean ammo which is why I've been grabbing PMC when I can. I've been told it's nice ammo for a P7. For HD I already have Hornady Critical Duty.
  15. Right now 12ga, 9mm. The next 2 guns I plan on buying are also 9mm so guess I'm a 9mm guy. Ammo is cheaper and I'd rather buy one kind of ammo then have to stock up on multiple calibers right now.
  16. If you're using missingmoney.com then it's legit. I used it a long time ago and not "bad" happened...just free money lol

That's a pretty sick deal depending on what they charge for shipping. I think RTSP had/have them for $675, so this would make it cheaper then them, again depending on shipping.
  18. I wear this when I'm not at work...not the best pic but its the one I had on my computer. I'll take a better one next day off.
  19. Congrats! But now for the...
  20. Good question. I honestly don't know. My town is great with the process so I never had to look into it. My Father lives in a town with no PD so he has to use the NJSP. My process takes 3ish weeks vs his 2-3 months.
  21. Same, I'd be very curious why they would want my picture. You already have my address if the police are worried about what guns I own...picture is above and beyond, shady.
