  1. Polished stainless 91108 CZ 75B I'm on the lookout for everywhere - one of these days I'll find one, I just missed the one Steve @ Monmouth Arms had last year -
  2. Actually a Leo - I know, makes no sense.
  3. Agreed on the CZ - I plan on a 75B when I'm out of here at some point so the 16 round mags don't need to be pinned, and my father is off the boat from Brno, CZ so its probably a mandate that I own at least one CZ firearm - obviously I love Beretta pistols as well, however the last time I held the 92FS it felt like a brick in my hand (huge) as I don't have large hands, but I will check it out, I also have been thinking of getting on of the 84/85 "Cheetah" models as my wifes G42 is the only 380 we have right now - I'm thinking the LEM might be the way to go if I want a hammer fired HK - I've done some more reading and it looks like you can use a stronger trigger return spring from the USP or something to make the reset more crisp? I have to do some more reading but it seems like best of both worlds in the HK hammer fired pistols -
  4. ^^Good call on Cabelas - a bit far for me "just to look" - and yes I noticed the long reset but I think the SA is pretty decent in the P30 series and the DA isn't bad either, wondering on the LEM as the HKPro guys on the forum rave about the LEM but I've watched a few Youtube videos and the reset and break looks the same as the DA/SA just has a super long take up on all trigger pulls
  5. Well I've been on a bit of an HK kick lately (thanks for the nudging to the VP9, Ray), and would like to switch it up on a future purchase by going with a V3 DA/SA with decocker, or the V1 Light LEM trigger system on a P30, P30L (John Wick), or P30SK - I've dry fired the V3 in store and its not bad, sure the reset is long and its no striker fired trigger, but its another shooting system I'd like to learn to shoot better (hammer fired in general) No shops seem to stock any HK's with the LEM trigger so wondering if any locals have it or know of any shops that would have one I could check out in person?
  6. I KNEW there was a reason I hadn't bought a Springfield Armory product and this just solidifies it - and screw their stupid Saint rifle too -
  7. That's what I'm leaning for, the FDE is meh and the gray is too blue-ish for me - I made a mental note of myself to stop pussyfooting around and order one by Monday - either in Black or ODG - I like the Meprolights on the ODG so I'd spring for the LE version, while on the Black I'd want the standard one and put something like Truglo's on it - I'm probably the most indecisive person in the world when it comes to anything and actually the fact that I came down to just 2 choices within a week (and just talking colors at this point), by my standards is amazing -
  8. Just came out in OD Green as well, and actually really like it - (still talking about VP9)
  9. Jeez you have a really short last name - I mean shorter than Smith - impressive -
  10. I have small hands - the usual suspects I recommend - Glock Gen4 small frames only (not 45's) PPQ, PPS VP9, P30 Sig P320 (although its a pain in the asshole to get small grip frames now) If you want a Shield the deals are stupid good right now - get a Performance Center for like $350 after rebate -
  11. None - I just use them as is for backup - I do have some factory +2 extensions from Glock on my flush mags too, its a good in between with the G19 mag and the flush mag but still retains factory reliability and doesn't add much but you do get 2 rounds - 15's I just use like I do in my private escapades - bare
  12. Off to a good start I see - keep those margaritas flowing -
  13. I am just theorizing - but the owners and employees may not actually be pink card holders - some are probably retired or active LEO, but since its all OPEN carry and its on a business premises I am theorizing based on my limited knowledge that if the owner of the establishment allows it of their employees, since it is private property I don't think that there is any special requirement needed to do so by the people who work there - One of the guys who works at or owns a range in this state could chime in but this is to the best of my knowledge my theory -
  14. ^^Great post - I just ordered a VP9 and was wondering if the Lobos trigger was still made - I love the Black/Red it really screams HK - I also agree with you on the striker plate, I will be getting the solid black cover for it - did you also get the HKParts firing pin sleeve? Between those parts and adding Truglo TFX sights I'll be good to go with my first HK
  15. ^^^I actually agree with this - otherwise we are just talking about another example of a connected citizen or someone who's life matters more than others. And I assume you are talking about an actual concealed carry permit which is valid not during hours of business only (as we know, all gun shop owners and employees in NJ are open carrying on premises during business hours) - then yes that is a rarity. At the end of the day - if you are not a prohibited person, regardless of what you do, who you know, where you live in NJ, who's campaign you donate to, what judge's son you went to high school with, how many favors you are owed, you should have the right to carry for self defense in this state and others - obviously we know it doesn't exist like that here. So for the people who are part of the .00006% of people in this state that were issued CC permits in the past year (using my figure of approx. 540 I've gotten from a buddy who is a trooper, going back to 2015) - if someone is a large 2A personality and has that, they should talk about it to get the general public involved in changing it for all.
  16. This is why I have a gun credit card that the wife doesn't know about.
  17. Its all about discouraging you to purchase firearms in NJ - and especially discouraging you to buy more of those evil handguns you will go commit felonies with - it starts with having to take off of work to drop off your "application" because God knows its worse than bankers hours, at least my PD has one late evening (till 6:30 PM) - and it ends with having 10 days cut off on your permit because it takes them that long to send them back to your PD for delivery. Even with long arms, its about discouraging you. Many don't own long arms just for the nuisance of having to get an FPID. 90% of other states in the country, DL and NICS and good to go if you are 18+ - Enjoy your permit, be sure to use it on something nice! I'm actually impressed with the 81 days with the NJSP barracks you used.
  18. I think the answer altogether is what you are comfortable with - some don't like manual safeties at all (me), I don't mind DA/SA with a decocking function, however I have zero issues with my striker pistol of choice (Glock) for carry - very distinct takeup which is not as light as PPQ, VP9, etc - No difference to me except to help in an adrenaline situation (12lb DA pull vs 3 lb SA pull) - I'd be the wrong person to ask about a cocked and locked scenario as its not for me - Either carry scenario needs to be trained often, with hammer fired I would definitely decock though and deal with a long, harder DA pull on first shot - no further comment from me on manual safeties.
  19. Holy Erection Batman - Please don't be next to my port at RTSP with that LOL
  20. If one isn't secure with carrying with a round in the chamber why would you carry at all? IMO - the bad guy isn't waiting for you to rack your slide - Either carry a striker and practice your draw stroke and keep that trigger finger rigid, or get an HK/Sig/Beretta etc with a decocker and carry chambered with first pull DA - IMO the HK setup is probably best of both worlds, rack slide, decock the hammer, holster - or their LEM setup which has a bobbed hammer which you can thumb when drawing the pistol - both are great options (as I've been learning a lot about HK's lately)
  21. Decisions..... GSSF sending me Blue Label coupon end of next month too so that's like allowance.
  22. I'm not gonna lie I have been on a striker craze lately (PPQ, P320, G19, G26), and the VP9 is so tempting as Ray Ray mentions it every other thread and I FEEL LIKE I'M MISSING OUT - I'm debating going with the tried and true HK hammer fired designs though, maybe a P30L like John Wick - Cost of entry is insane compared to VP9 though, like $350 higher...
  23. So you went from a picture 2 to a picture 1? Not bad at all.
  24. I have a PPQ M2 and I don't have large hands - small backstrap works perfect. Trigger is amazing. However I want to get a nice stipple job from Lane Owens since it's not as gripped as my other polymer pistols. Ergonomics and shootability are on point. I have a P320 Compact in 45ACP (9+1) and I love this pistol however Sig has extreme supply chain issues in case you wanted a different grip size or color as they come with one size in the box and replacement shells are $45 Luckily my 45 came with a small as I couldn't do the medium. Great shooter and soft for it's size. I may pick up a Compact in 9mm down the line as well. VP9 has all sizes in the box. As does Glock although my Glocks I never need backstraps. I currently have a 19 and 26. Shield 45 has all the improvements the 9mm should have but it's got a bigger cartridge. After rebate and transfer you can get one for $300. Add some night sights and Apex trigger for $200 and you have 90% of the PC center version (lowest I've seen with night sights is $600 shipped) - really considering getting one. I'm also on the HK boards and want to dive in to the HK world I'll be shooting my buddies VP9 tomorrow it may help me take the plunge. I was going to "switch it up" and get a P30, maybe with LEM trigger as I'm not really a manual safety guy but I'm not sure if I can justify the $350 price spread. And yes VP9SK is coming in a couple weeks dealers are already taking orders. And they will take 15rd VP9 mags as backups.
  25. That would be me Zeke
