  1. So the PA and DE stores are roughly the same distance from my house. Which is the "better" store to go to? I guess "better" means greater inventory/less hassle when purchasing a firearm.
  2. Do you think there will be riots? #NotMyModularHandgunSystem
  3. My XD(m) 5.25" .45 is in, just need to pick it up from the FFL.
  4. They posted an update to answer questions that people are having: This event is a fundraiser for the Hunterdon County Chief's of Police. There will be several timed Combat Handgun Courses, similar to an International Defensive Pistol Course with reactionary targets, barricades and movement. There will be an individual and two man person team competition. Competitors will need approximately 150 rounds to shoot the course. https://www.facebook.com/tacticaltrainingcenternj/photos/a.563458490463178.1073741828.558503107625383/877258802416477/?type=3&theater

    Glock 43?

Called one of our central NJ ranges on Monday to check rental inventory and was told "we don't rent smaller/compact pistols because they're too hard to shoot. " WTF?
  8. Lawrence Township 2 weeks to get P2P.
  9. One thing I have learned along the way is your hand needs to be absolutely still when you press the trigger. Your aim can be perfect, but if your hand moves when you fire you'll never be on target. This tip helped my wife immensely last weekend. She practiced some dry fires this way and found that when she focused on keeping her hands still while firing, her accuracy immediately improved. [Disclaimer: Of course YMMV, and what do I know I have only been shooting for 6 months]
  10. Gotcha. The way I interpret it is how much effort (or time taken) the operator has to go through to get the firearm to fire - because that's what matters here right? Can I fire right away, or is there more to do first? A level of readiness as determined by the number of actions to be performed. The internal and integral safeties are released on a simple trigger press, in other words no extra action necessary by the operator. So why would they count for the purposes of categorizing the condition level? [not to be argumentative and asked in the most respectful way]
  11. Yeah for sure I have seen PCC, not sure about other calibers.
  12. ... and likely for OBRPC ... although I just read through the range rules and don't see that explicitly stated anywhere. Best to check directly with them.
  13. So this is all new to me and I have no idea what it means, so I looked it up and found this article. http://concealednation.org/2015/08/firearm-condition-readiness-condition-0-condition-1-condition-2-condition-3-condition-4-what-do-they-all-mean/ *Condition 0 — Magazine inserted, round in the chamber, safety off. For SA/DA — Hammer is back.Condition 1 — Magazine inserted, round in the chamber, safety on. For SA/DA — Hammer is back.Condition 2 — Applies to Single-Action/Double-Action primarily. This is a magazine inserted, round in the chamber, hammer forward. For revolvers, it would be rounds inserted into cylinder, cylinder locked into place, hammer forward. Condition 3 — Magazine inserted, no round in the chamber. For SA/DA — Hammer is forward. HE: you said I don't see how that matches to this definition above. I would think a Glock, and any semi-auto striker fired, could only be a 0 or a 3 (well ok, it could be a 1 if it has a traditional safety), as either there is a round in the chamber or not and there is no extra step of taking a safety off. If a round is in the chamber, all you need to do is click the trigger. Condition 2 is all about a hammer. Just want to make sure we're all talking about the same definitions.
  14. I just ordered it from Target Sports last night. If you get the 1k rounds there's free shipping.
  15. Actually they retail right around $900 +/-. http://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/82708-windham-weaponry-ww-15-mpc-ar15-type-223556-rifle-nib/?hl=windham This is consistent with what I paid for my compliant SRC back in September.
  16. RWJUH is already providing similar services throughout Somerset county, as well as across central NJ in other counties. IIRC Somerset County is already providing the dispatch for them and RWJUH EMS is well versed in how to provide mutual aid relations. For the record I am not trying to defend them, just presenting some facts on the situation. It will be a tough battle.
  17. Hillsborough runs a combination paid/volunteer squad and they already charge all patients for services. I do not believe this is at all an issue of not enough volunteers or not wanting to charge patients, but simply getting the most value on services for tax dollars. http://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/news/local/somerset-county/2017/02/11/hillsborough-rescue-squad-may-headed-extinction/97640778/
  18. Yeah they do that here too, Sundays are the best day you usually see a few pickup trucks scouring the neighborhood. I guess I can try that route first just not expecting them to take a few of the items (pool stairs).
  19. Anybody use a service like http://www.1800gotjunk.com? I have an old refrigerator, various tube TVs, a basketball hoop, treadmill, and fiberglass in-ground pool stairs to dispose of. Wondering what their rates are, and what to watch out for.
  20. Yep, quite a long list of entertainers in my household! Apparently they don't want my family's business.
